    I did a lot of rattle/teething type toys. Stackable rings, blocks,and a alphabet floor mat.

    I too put teething stuff and all the "educational" toys at TRU that state on the package they are designed to help develop something (motor skills, hand eye coordination, sense of touch, etc.)

    For my son I did register for a few toys, maybe 5.  I kept it at a minimum b/c there were many other things we really needed and I also knew that people would buy cute baby toys anyway.
