When is/was your first appt?

Hi ladies

I just got my BPF yesterday. Quite a shocker, considering I had a Mirena until it fell out a few days ago. I called up the doc, and they won't see me until I'm 12 weeks in August! I don't have this kind of patience.

And I can't tell anyone yet! My husband is out of town without cell phone reception until next week. The occasional text message will go through, but no calls. He will have quite the shocker when he comes back.

How many weeks will everyone be at their first appointment? And how are you ladies keep your mind busy until then?

my first appointment isn't until july 23rd - i'll be at 11 weeks. i thought this was a little late, but i'm doing fine with it. just spending a lot of time on thebump and watching tv! i don't work during the summers so i'm reading and relaxing!

it must be hard not to tell anyone else yet! thankfully you have thebump to share everything with!

The midwives I see typically do first appointments between 8-10 weeks, but I know every place is different.

Oh no - I can't imagine not being able to tell my husband right away! That must kill you!

My midwifery practice doesn't like to see you before 11 weeks, and since I will be out of town weeks 9-14, I won't get in until week 14 this time - the end of August!! My kids are keeping me super busy so I'm not freaking out about it. But I remember how hard the wait was for me with my first viable pregnancy - it was about 11 weeks and the time went so slowly. I tried to just keep myself busy with fun activities until then. These boards are also a nice place to hang out

I signed up with a midwife and mine is at 11 weeks. The waiting isn't fun but try to find things to distract yourself.

My first is next Monday - I'll be 5 wks 6 days.

My first appointment is tomorrow at 7w 6days. My OB likes to do an ultrasound to date the pregnancy. However, a lot of my friends weren't seen until more like 12.

Mine is Tues, they think I will be around 8 weeks cause of last ms but I think I am less than that.

I had my first appointment last week at 6 weeks 6 days. I think every practice is different.

Congrats! Interesting that you had a mirena and it fell out. Do you think you go pregnant before it fell out?

Congratulations! My OB won't see me until right before my 9th week and it's only because I insisted on coming in earlier than they wanted to see me. She generally won't see patients until the 10th week. From what I hear 8-12 weeks is pretty normal. I'm sorry your husband is out of town, but you have a little time to do something totally over the top to tell him!

I got my BFP two weeks after I had my Mirena removed, so I'm similar to you. My first appt is at 11w (7/17)

I have an appointment with a CNP at just over 8 weeks.

My midwife will fit me in some time after that.

My first appointment isnt until July 19 and I'll be about 9 weeks by then. I totally understand where you are coming from. The waiting is driving me insane!

My doctor won't see me until 8 weeks...I would go crazy keeping that in if I were you! ...I already am going crazy with anticipation!

I must have gotten KU before it fell out. It fell out this past weekend and I just tested yesterday. I only tested to prove to myself I was being crazy for even thinking its a possibility. I guess its been loose?

Congrats! My first appointment is at 7.5 weeks. I believe 8-12 weeks is typical for a low risk pregnancy. i am really just trying to stay busy and not worry about the appointment. No real advice for distractions.

My OB typically does a first appointment at 8w. I had a Q&A with her at 5w5d and have my first appointment next Thursday which will be 7w4d. I also have my second u/s scheduled the following Monday - mainly because they want to monitor me a little more closely based on my age. I have to say that Thursday seems impossibly far away to me. I don't think I would have the patience to wait much longer than that.

I go July 11th and I will be 8 weeks. Luckily, we have family coming in the first 2 weeks of July so hopefully that will make the time go fast.

I can't go until July 10th, my 9th week. The weeks are creeping by so slowly, but I've convinced myself that I'd rather wait until I'm a little further along, than get an earlier u/s, not see anything because it's too early, and then worry myself to death.

I will be 6 weeks 5 days for our first u/s and appointment on July 3. I've kept my mind busy just by working, having plans on weekends, and reading at night...nothing crazy but it occupies my mind!

My first appointment is June 25th, and I'll be 6w 4d. I don't know what they will do at this appointment though. I think it might be just the general first visit to answer questions and stuff.

My first, was at 5 weeks, 2nd at 5.5, going back at 7.5, and probably again at 10. But I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage, so I need extra monitoring.

July 16th, my obgyn doesn't like to see patients until they are 10-12 weeks along.

I was 5w3d at my intake appointment. It was just paperwork and a blood panel.

I have a dating scan tomorrow (6w3d). My midwifery likes to get people in as early as possible.

Congrats!! I went in yesterday to meet with our midwife to answer questions and have blood drawn. First u/s is July 2, which will be about 7 weeks. Then I don't go back until 12 weeks.

July 5th which will be to set up my first ultrasound! I'll be 7 weeks so I'm thinking I won't have an ultrasound until week 9 or 10!? The wait is horrible and tortuous but I bet it is all work it in the end.
