Happy Monday All,
My LO is 20 weeks old today and I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue, or any advice for me. My LO is a great baby. Smiles, giggles, laughs. Likes to be held and recently has become fussy if you don't carry her around with you.
Anyway, whenever she is around more than 5 people she just cries. The noise level is not loud either. We have been to picnics, other people's houses and even had people at our house and she becomes very fussy and cranky.
Sometimes I blame myself thinking maybe I have coveted her and she isn't used to other people. Everytime my SIL picks her up she just screams and I feel bad bc I know it upsets my SIL. She hasn't said anything but I know it probably hurts her feelings.
I also feel bad because people don't get to see the "true" Braelyn. They just hear her cry non-stop.
What can I do?
Re: LO seems Antisocial
I think this is very normal - babies get overstimulated easy, and it doesn't just have to be lots of noise - lots of new faces and activity can stress them out. We just had people over for father's day and the exact same thing happened - DD is generally pretty easy-going and happy, but after so many people coming in and out, being held by all her grandparents, etc., she let it be known that she was in need of a break! They are also getting closer to the age where some seperation anxiety sets in, so if LO is getting passed around the room, that can set them off too.
I think the only thing you can do is wait; they'll get older and be able to handle more. Other than that, just watch LO closely and try to step in when you feel like she needs some quiet time.
