Creased nipple?

=bad latch?  After feeding.  I have been using a nipple shield for 3 weeks now, one of which we switched to formula for medical reasions.  My one nipple is still cracked but the other is finally healed. 

I lost my shield...Doh!  Figured it was an omen that it was time to get rid of it, but I'm oh so scared to become sore again.

    I think I had flat nipples along with Joaquin having tongue tie, the first few weeks were brutal..brutal!  But after a few weeks and both nipples healed I took it off and we've been blissfully nursing ever since!  Let them try on the nipple that is healed, but try and find and use the shield until the other is healed too.  It's just way to painful to nurse without a shield on a cracked nipple!
