Restless arm syndrome....?

So I know there is restless leg syndrome, I had it at the end of my pregnancy with DD. It was awful and kept me up all night. Last night I was so tired and my arms just could not get comfortable.  It was like RLS for my arms! Anyone ever heard of this or had this happen?  Seriously took me over an hour to fall asleep, then when I had to pee at 3, it took another hour because they couldn't get comfortable again!

Re: Restless arm syndrome....?

  • I will be asking my doctor about this on Wednesday, because it's been happening to me, too. It starts in my arms then travels to my legs as well. So I sit here feeling like I could run a marathon and lift weights just to satisfy my legs and arms. Horrible.

I know it's not a real diagnosis, but it should be!  Though I only have one restless arm, and oddly enough, when I wake up, it's swollen like crazy (like people say your hands can get during pregnancy), and my fingers are all puffy.. But after being awake for a little bit, the swelling goes away and my arm goes back to normal - no tingling etc.  Driving me crazy though as well!
  • My sister who is not pregnant was actually diagnosed with Restless arm syndrome so yes it is a real thing and a real sucky thing. Hope it doesn't last for you.

  • yay! I'm not crazy! This is the 2nd night it's happened to me. Hopefully it wont be an every night occurence.

Let me know what your dr. says! I don't go back until the 2nd, and I'll forget to ask by then.

  • OMG Restless leg has been driving me up the wall!!!!

The only thing that has been helping me sleep I know you want to laugh is HypnoBirthing Rainbow relaxtion I have been streaming on my Iphone and I put headphones on. You can stream it free online. Hopefully it helps you! And the only reason I know about it is from reading another blog. Because I am for sure getting an epidural no natural birth for me :) I give the ladies props who do but its not for me.

Anyways I talked to my doctor about it and he said part of it is anxiety. Eeeekkk :( Hope it goes away after she comes!

  • I have no doubt it's caused by anxiety.  I am worrying about everything these days! I have having a rcs, so our weekends are numbered with what we can do.  Plus, I'm not going back to work after DD2 comes, so just trying to figure out how it's going to work is making me anxious.  DH makes enough to support us, it's just a little nerve racking knowing we won't have that extra from me each month (though with daycare for 2 until ODD goes to K next year, we wouldn't have extra).

I might have to try that to calm me down at night.  Thanks for the idea!
