what did you do for LO's 1st birthday?

Max's birthday is in 27 days and I am having such a hard time deciding what to do.  We do not have enough room in our townhouse to have our family over, so I was thinking a room at a restaurant, but I don't know...I need some inspiration!  I wish the weather was warmer so I could plan something outside, that would be so much easier.

Do you have a kids play place anywhere near where you live? If so that would be an idea, maybe you could take your decor and a cake. If not a room at a restaurant would be fine. Are there any small places that you could rent?

Do you have a community center or a pool with a place to rent out. We also looked at those kind of places. We decided just to squich everyone in and put them on the deck with a heater

the only thing about having it at a kid's place is Max will be one of maybe 3 kids there.  the rest will be our friends and family.  none of our friends have kids.  that's why I was thinking a restaurant type place for this year and kid type place the next few years when we actually invite his daycare/school friends.  kwim?

We have a really small and not "open" house too.  Last year we used my uncles basement and had a bunch of people over for Annabelle's 1st.  This year we invited like 7 kids and we are having it at our house....but we are looking at like 20 adults ( 2 parents to each kid plus grandparents) .... I have no idea where everyone is going to fit .... I am praying that on an off chance, late November will unseasonally warm... and the guys can hang out outside.
