To those awful leg cramps;

If they don't stop soon, I may tear my legs off in the middle of the night. I would rather have no legs at this point then the most painful leg cramps of my life.

Who's with me?

Re: To those awful leg cramps;

  • I had been doing well up to this point, an occasional one but last night I had 4 in my foot and 1 in my leg! Ugh, need more potassium I guess. Off to the store later for bananas!!

    They aren't SO bad if they didn't interrupt my sleep.... and make me afraid to lay down again. I swear they just KNOW when I lay down and they come right back.

    If you didn't know already, though I'm assuming you do. Leg and foot cramps are best handled by putting pressure on them. Just stand up if you can get yourself out of bed! They hurt less and pass quicker. Good luck!!

    get yourself more potassium!! stock up on bananas, cantalope, and spinach. I eat about a slice & half of cantalope or just 1 banana a day and have had very little cramps thoughout the whole pregnancy.

    OMG, I have had those a few times and they are very painful. I find if I am hydrated, and keep up with potassium, they are less frequent.

  • Try flexing your feet upwards.. Hurts like hell, but will relieve the cramp.. Whenever I'm in bed and have to stretch I make sure not to point my toes. I flex them instead. Pointing makes them worse.

  • Aren't they awful? I had one that literally pulled a muscle. I could barely walk for 3 days! And I eat a banana every morning and drink insane amounts of water. The DR said it could just still be an unforunate side effect (not a sign that my body is lacking something). NOT FUN.

  • I definitely HATE the leg cramps and have been having tons of issues. I do feel better after I swim laps - I think because I'm flexing, etc. It's relieved a lot of leg cramps/issues for me if that helps at all!
