I went for a hospital tour last week (it's a brand new hospital) and the doors to the rooms are clear glass - I could see the people, their babies, their stuff and what they were watching on TV.
The bathroom door is frosted glass - but you wouldn't want to be in there when you have a visitor nor would the visitor want to use it.
I just found this very odd. My previous babies were delivered with a solid door. I asked and the tour guide just said it was for an open feeling . . .
Hello - there is breastfeeding and breakdowns trying to change a little diaper - I wouldn't want everyone watching my every move! Plus tours walking by on the weekends - what about privacy!!
There are not blinds or anything. There is a curtian you can pull around your bed, but you can still see in and that cuts the room in 1/2 . . .
Now the NICU was cool because it's private rooms and I get why there is glass there. But this was the regular rooms . . . bizzare! I'm thinking of giving a show to the tours if I'm there on a weekend so they hang up some blind for future mamas ; p
