My DS, who is 5, has never climbed on his dresser before or even had a near miss with one. So last night, we hear a big crash and him crying. He had tried to stand in the bottom drawer to reach something. Thank God he is okay and that the baby wasn't in the room when it fell. He escaped with just a few bruises and scrapes. We are definitely planning to get anchors and rememdy this from happening ever again just in case. I just can't imagine the moms that have lived through this and something worse happened. Just wanted to share a friendly reminder of something we thought we never had to worry about.
Re: PSA> Anchoring dressers to walls...
Oh gosh, that is so scary!! I'm glad he is okay!
This is a timely post for me, as I was just thinking we needed to ancor the dresser and shelf to the walls, as DS is starting to try to climb up the shelves now. Thanks for bringing the message home, though!

I also need to anchor our dressers. We only have three so it shouldn't be too difficult.
I am glad that he is okay. I never had that problem with my oldest, thank God.
They sell straps at hardware stores. From my understanding (we haven't done it yet), you just need to screw it into the wall, so as long as you're allowed to hang things, you should be fine re:your security deposit
Thanks!
