When i was pregnant with DD my mom insisted i listen to all the classical stuff with her because it would "enhance her brain" ummmmm Actually the studies have disproven this bit of information. BUT! When i was pregnant with DD the Taylor Swift "Speak Now" album came out and that's practically all i listened to. To this day when we play it if she's fussy she calms down and starts giggling and trying to sing along and what not. She enjoys all types of music almost... haha but ironically doesnt really like classical.
Who knows what i'll listen to with this baby but i wouldnt mind it being some more Taylor. hahaha.
Are you going to have baby listen to music in the womb (headphones? Just whatever your listening to? What kind of music?

Dear Baby Pacheco...
With DD I would play music on my iPhone and just put it at my belly. I played all kinds of music, from classical to rock. There are a couple of Jim Brickman songs that after birth I continued to play that she likes. But in general, we're musical people and we play music for her all the time and she loves it.
It's awesome to see her recognize a song that I've played before and danced around the room to her with, she gets a big smile on her face.

We made two playlists: classical/instrumental and current favorites (aka, a lot of DMB).
During labor we listened to DMB. Then, during my c/s my OB asked me what I wanted to listen to and I just blurted out Third Day. He said, I have that! SO, the song "Tunnel" was playing in the operating room when my son was delivered.
A few lyrics:
There's a light at the end of this tunnel
Shinin' bright at the end of this tunnel
For you, for you
So keep holdin' on
 Just wanted to share...
 Just wanted to share...
I thought it was so perfect.
Also, once we were home, we had the latest DMB cd playing almost non stop in his nursery during sleep times, nursing times, rocking times, etc. It was the Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. IMO, it was the perfect combination of music for us and my son's nursery was a very relaxing place.
Now, my son (turning 3 this weekend) is in love with anything instrumental with fast runs. He wants me to turn it up, turn it on and he wants to get down to it.
