when your fam or friends watch LO, do you ask that they write down what they eat or drink? I use to and then all of a sudden my in laws stopped doing it, its not a big big deal because lately they only have been watching her for like no more than 5 hours at a time. But I think a couple times when I asked they acted like they couldnt remember. I dont mind asking if they can for sure remember. But I think I would still rather have them write it down. esp. since they feel they can give her foods she hasnt really had before (from my post below)..
Re: Do you have family/friends write down what LO eats?
No one has watched my LO since she's really started eating foods (we did BLW so she's sort of "delayed" with her foods). But I did expect to know when she got bottles and when she slept. I would probably share groups of foods that LO isn't getting (all nuts b/c my niece is allergic, honey, and we are avoiding acidic/citrusy foods right now) vs. specific foods.
I am thinking how I would feel and I think I would be more comfortable with my own parents giving her food vs. my ILs b/c I know my parents eat healthy foods (grown in their gardens), whereas my ILs tend to eat boxed meals. And no one really knows what's in those, haha!
Nope. If I trust you enough to watch my kid I trust you enough to feed my kid responsibly.
I'm not the food police though. Actually, I think my MIL does a better job in that dept. than I do.
We have no allergies, her diet is varied so I'm not worried about overkill either.
I do ask for a general idea of when her last bottle was and what she did have at meal time just so I have a starting point once we get home. Most people can remember that much.
Yep, this exactly!
Write down? No.
But I do ask so that I can plan when to feed her next. If I heard that she ate some peas and drank a 5oz bottle an hour ago, I know that she's probably good for another few hours.

My sitter still writes down everything and I think it's overkill. That's 3 days a week, and Piper only eats the food I pack, so I don't really get the point.
Otherwise, no one writes down anything. We stopped logging bottles around 8 months as well. I do like to know when her last meal was, so that I'll know what time to expect to feed her again.
