I was reading a post on my BMB and a FTM is (admittedly) being unreasonable about her 2 brothers and their wives all expecting within a month of her LO. She said that she wishes the attention could be more on her LO (or so I got from her post).
My LO is all alone. No cousins. None of our close friends even have kids (the only two couples who do have kids, all live out of town). None of our siblings are married, let alone having kids. ![]()
I am so jealous of that poster! I wish my LO had some kids to play with! Needless to say, although this pregnancy was unplanned, I am really excited that she will have a playmate so close to her age!
How many cousins does your LO have?

No cousins yet. MH and I are both the oldest of 2 and our sisters are not married or close to having kids yet (that we are aware of). There aren't even any little kids in either of our families. And very few of my close friends right now have children. So we've made friends with a bunch of our neighbors with young kids!
6. 3 on each side.
We see 2 (siblings) on a weekly basis, and the others really just on holidays. I could do without seeing the others' parents even those few times a year. I doubt DS will really know the others that well, even though they are close in age. The kids are...fine, but their parents leave much to be desired, and I am not attached to the kids in the least and dread spending time with their parents.
0. But I can understand where that mom would be coming from. My parents are an amazing support for us, especially since DS was born. And I know that if both my sisters had LOs around the same time as I had DS, my parents would be stretched thinner trying to help each of us.
Im not saying that I want the 'attention' on DS, like oh look at my baby he's the cuter ever! But, the stuff like my mom coming over to clean for me right after DS was born. Going grocery shopping for us while we were at the hospital, being there for me while I was in labor. Letting us sleep over when DH closes and then opens the next morning, and watching DS for two hours in the morning so I could take a nap and then be able to be that much better of a mother myself because I didn't want to cry from exhaustion. My parents wouldn't have been able to do all those things with three different grand kids.
Lets see, two cousins on my side, and six on dh's. So 8 cousins, ranging from 2months to 18years old. We rarely see the cousins on Dh's side, but we see my sister's kids at least 2x a week.
ETA: DH's side is probably done producing kids (at least until the two in college procreate). I have two teenage siblings and a married sibling who has not yet had kids, so we are likely to get lots more cousins on my side in the future.
DD has 3 cousins all under the age of 3. 2 live about 20 min from us and the other about 45 so we see them regularly. This next baby will only be 4 months younger than 2 of them and I think that is awesome. All my cousins are so much younger than me that I never really had a close relationship with them.
6 so far. 3 on DH's side and 3 on mine. One on each side are his age. He also has a 2nd cousin that's 2 years old we see often.
I'm the youngest, so my side is done other than however many more we have. DH has a brother that's right on our track, so Carter will end up with 1 or 2 more cousins before it's all said and done.
5 on DH side. None on mine because I am an only child.
DH brother and sister are both older so I think we're it as far as more kids. She will probably stay at 5 cousins.

We are really lucky...
I am the youngest of 4, and between us we have 9 babies.
My new one in January will make 10.
It's so much fun - my DD gets to see and play with them every week. I love it.
(They range from ages 6 to 1 month)
Only 1 first cousin
H is an only & I have 2 brothers -- one older, one younger. Neither are married, but my older brother's gf had a baby 3 months after DD3 was born, so her only 1st cousin is basically the same age as her! I love that she has someone to play with since the older girls usually leave her out.
She has 12 second cousins, ranging in ages from newborn to 10.

My sister has 4 kids, My nieces are 9, 2 and 4 weeks! My nephew is 5.
DH has a sister who is married but her and her husband decided that they do not want kids so he has 4. But its nice because we live 5 min away from them and Harrison and my 2 yr old niece are so close, its absolutely adorable!
James has 3 cousins, all girls, MH's sister's kids:
10 yrs old, 7 yrs old, 7 months old!
I hope my brother has kids soon, for many reasons (but also because my SIL's kids are kind of brats, even the 7 month old shows signs!

On MH's side there is one 5 year old and 1 on the way. None yet on my side. I'm excited that she is going to have a cousin about a year younger. They live an hour away and I think they will probably be pretty good friends. She already loves her 5 year old cousin but once they get older (teens) I doubt they are as into each other.
We are both one of 2 children so there probably won't be a ton of 1st cousins for C.
She has 9 2nd cousins on MH's side and 2 on my side though.
I guess I didn't think about 2nd cousins. All of my family (both my mom's whole family, and my dad's whole family) live out of state, and dh's family (both sides) live out of state as well, so I didn't "count" those cousins since we don't see them.
Technically, she has 7 second cousins, ranging in age from 11-5, but again, we don't get to see them except once every year or every other year.
1st cousins - she has 2 right now and one more that's due in about a week!

BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
LO has 2 cousins. One is 16 and the other one is 2.
If I count 2nd and 3rd cousins it would be around 150 (no joke). My mom is one of 14 my dad is was one of 17, DH mom is one of 7 and I think his dad is one of 5.
Wow, that's awesome!
DS has 6 1st cousins. 4 on my side that we see 2x a week. 2 on MH's side that we see on holidays. All ranging from 2.5 to 11 years.
Ben has 2 cousins. My brother's wife had a daughter when they met who is 8 and they just had a baby together in April.
DH is the oldest of 4 and they are nowhere near having kids.
But my best friend is married to DH's cousin and they have a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old, both boys, so they are Ben's 2nd cousins.
Luckily they all live really close so Ben will grow up with all of them.
None. DS is the first grandchild on both sides. DH and my siblings are married but none have kids yet. Hopefully they will soon because it will be nice for DS to have some cousins. SIL and I may overlap a pregnancy at some point and that might be weird. Not because I want attention...it just might be weird.
I have no cousins. It's just me and my sis in our family. Our parents friends kids we consider to be our cousins, but technically they aren't.

My Blog: Decorate This
Ty has 2 cousins, and a 3rd coming in October. That is all on DHs side of the family. The oldest is a few states and mountains away though
The middle cousin and Ty are really close.  They spend every friday at MILs together.
The new baby will also be far away
Ty is the only LO in my family. I won't be surprised if early next year though B and SIL say they're pregnant! They love to travel and have one of their bucket list trips left (Europe) and that's scheduled for this fall! I've always said that they'll start a family after going to Europe. Who knows though, they both seem very apprehensive about it. However, they have said if they have kids, they'll only have 1.
Wow, I thought DHs family was big! He's one of 22 on one side, and 15 on the other.
However every family seems big to me. I'm one of 5 on both sides!
