What's the funniest pregnancy comment you've gotten?

There are always a ton of posts about the offensive things people say to pregnant women (and we all know, the possibilities are endless). So, on a lighter note, what's the funniest thing someone has said to you? I have a few, thanks to an older woman I encountered yesterday, who initially stopped me to compliment a dress I was wearing.

1) That was stupid. You're going to be pregnant all summer.

2) Well, now you'll have a boy and a girl. They don't come in anything else, so you're done.

3) (This one was said to me last pregnancy) That baby got in there a lot easier than it's going to come out.

  • Those are pretty good...I got one today. It was after lunch and I don't know about the rest of you but I look a lot more pregnant after I eat. He said "How did I not know you were pregnant when you came in" geee thanks I think

  • My coworker asked me, after I announced to my team, "Was it planned?" And I said, "Yes, it was." She paused, her eyes got big, and she goes, "WHY???"

  • Today one of my students looked at my belly, pointed and laughed, and said  "You finally got fat!". She has some pragmatic issues, I think she meant it as a compliment lol.

When my aunt found out I was pregnant she said "I want to know ALL the details!!" Umm...details??

  • I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth taken out and I had an appt with the surgeon and after he walks out of the room the nurse goes, "was it planned?" and I was like no but we werent preventing and she goes, "are you going to keep it?"

MIL - When you start to show, are you going to let people touch it? (I think she was asking for a free pass ahead of time. I had no good answer.)

8yo nephew - "Aunt B's in the hospital making a baby." He thought I had to go to the hospital for 9 months to get a baby. Then when he saw me while I was 3 mos pregnant "Did you get the baby yet?"

19 yo brother - "Well, hang upside down or whatever you have to do to make it a boy, k?"

I swear when people ask " are you going to keep it" like its a walk in the park it makes me wonder about society.

I told my dad we are having twins.. he said " well now you have done it".. I said " no we did it then".. he said just blankly looked at me.

My aunt said " did you mean to have twins" i said " yes.. i choose two have two eggs that month.."

  • While holding my tummy up and walking, so @sshat asked me if I was going to "drop a load."

My response? "Yeah. I'm going to take a big $h!t!"

lol at choosing two eggs. We've gotten the "was this planned?" question a lot, but I actually just think that's rude.

     LOL that's adorable.

When I told my dad that I was pregnant, I had to do it over the phone since I'm out of state. I tell him that come October he's going to be a grandpa again (I've 11 nieces/nephews) he pauses for a moment then "huh...well, it's about time, I'm ain't getting no younger".

  • When my sis went into the hospital to give birth, her sis-in-law was convinced that her son would be able to tell them if it was a boy or girl. (My sis was team green.)

However, when she asked him what my sister was going to have, he looked at her like she was completely insane and said, "MOM. We've talked about this. She's going to have a BABY."

And i'm shaken then i'm still. When your eyes meet mine, i lose simple skills. Like to tell you all i want is now. Anniversary Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Funniest ones have come from my 6 yr old nephew so far:

    - When Aunty's baby comes out she wont know whether she has a boy or a girl for a few months. Thats  because when the baby comes out it has no hair and it takes some time for the hair to come. When the hair comes she will know its a girl if it has long hair, or if its a boy if it has short hair.

  • While at church, we told my 90 year old Grandpa.  We are very close with him, my parents live with him, we see him basically every day....but, he is 90.

His response was, "Well, you've sure had enough practice".

My husband said, "Wow Wilfred" and we were all giggling.

    So logical at that age.

  • I had a family friend tell me "You know, you shouldn't drink Diet Coke, it's bad for the baby." My reply "But what will I mix my rum with?" My mom, who was across the room, nearly choked!

MIL, who can't remember my due date, asked me at 8wks if I knew the sex yet.

  • One of the 4 year old boys in my class looked at me after swim time and said, "Do you have a baby in there?" "Yes" I replied. He immediately started rubbing my belly and giggling saying,"I'm petting your baby." Then he questioned if its was a boy or a girl and instructed me the baby needs a name! lol
  • My favorite reaction to telling people I'm pregnant was from another provider at work.  I should preface this with the fact that he is easily 20 years my senior, and incredibly, flamingly gay.  So, I say, "Hey Dr. B, did you hear the good news?  I'm pregnant!"  He looks at me, holds his hands up in front of him and says, "I had NOTHING to do with it!"  Ummm...yes, I know, I would have remembered that!  :)  Ahhh, great times!

  • From my hair stylist at 12 weeks (I wasn't showing at all): "can you still drive or have you had to stop yet?"  um, I plan on driving my whole pregnancy, thanks.

From a 4 year old in my preschool group when I told them I have a baby in my tummy: "Mrs. M, how are they gonna get that baby out?  They're going to have to cut it out of you!!". Yikes!

  • My 2 year old nephew was lightly bouncing off my hips (standing up and just pushing himself off) and I told him to be careful because "remember, Teetee has a baby in her belly.  You can rub my belly to say hi to the baby."  So he stops, raises his hand, waves at my belly and yells "Hi baby!"  That kid is so cute.

MIL, while looking at a pic of the baby's face from the NT: can you tell the sex from this?

DS, patting me on the head when I was home on bed rest: Gentle with mommy, gentle with baby.

Also DS: I get Doppler! Listen to baby's heart! Not YOUR baby, MY baby. (as he points to his belly)

  • From one of my 3rd graders: (The last week of school I finally moved into maternity shirts.) Mrs. Watson, you're finally getting chubby!

From my 2 yr old nephew.  He points at his mom's belly and says, "Baby!". (She's 9 months). Then he points at my stomach, "Baby!" He then points at our brother's stomach, "Baby!"  Bro is now planning on going on a diet.  ;)

  • I teach 8th graders, and the funniest comments came from them while pregnant with my first. they didn't find out i was pregnant until nov/dec, since i was due in may, but they all knew i was married before then.

Male Student: Mrs R----, who's the baby daddy?

    Me: Umm. . .. my husband. . . ?

    Student: oh, well that's good.

    Me: yeah. . .  yeah it is. . .

Another student, after finding out i was pregnant, approached me after class

Female Student: Mrs R-----, wanna know how i knew you were pregnant?

    Me: um, ok.

Female Student: your boobs got bigger.

    Me: :::stares blankly:::

  • When I told my manager I was pregnant again, he said "you do realize how this happens, right?!"....yeah buddy, this was plenty planned, lol. The funny thing is my big boss (who is his dad. and the owner of the store) said basically the same thing when I told HIM! And he's like 50 years old!

I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..

  • all of the awesome comments i have gotten are from my 6 year old stepson.

I was throwing up in the bathroom and he ran in there crying saying "stop it! your going to throw the baby up in the toilet! she won't like it in the toilet!!!"

i showed him my ultrasound picture and he said "gosh it sure is a mess in there"

  • One of the things my dad said when we told him was "good job!" I didn't say anything back because I had no idea how to reply to that, but it was fairly awkward... felt like getting a high five from your dad for having sex...

I was at work walking down the hallway. This hallway has bathroom doors on one side and elevators on the other. It was obvious I was heading to the bathroom b/c I was on that side and was already passing the elevators. An older lady was walking towards the elevators with a group of my co-workers. She like yelled, look out everyone and put her hands up and said pregnant lady heading to the bathroom.

I rolled my eyes and moved on and I heard someone say that was rude.

First I was not running or anything to the bathroom

Second the hallway is huge and I am not that big so i don't think people needed to look out

Third I find it rude to announce to the whole world I am going to the bathroom.
