Re: Bi-Monthly 6+ updates...

  • Same ole same ole here.  NTNP, and loving every minute of it.  Not sure if I want children anymore, but I guess we are still young.  Drinking and smoking WAY too much, but oh well.  Still overweight and not doing much about it.  Transferred my car title into my name - it came with my ex-husband's last name on it.  Needless to say DH was upset about that.  Nothing else going on here.

  • My BFF for the last 13 years and I went on a BFF-cation this last weekend.  Ok minus the part she is 16w pg...and AF decided to make an appearace...How do you tell you best friend that while in a confined space like a car and  grieving about another failed cycle, you don't like hearing about her being able to feel the baby or how badly she wants to know the gender?

So my 1st IUI didn't work, DH had to convince me to call RE.  My insurence only last until the 30th so I didn't know if they would do another cycle with me as I wont be covered for betas or f/u ultrasounds.  I also kinda didn't want to go in for a baseline to find out I had a cyst and have to break down in the RE office that treatments really were done when I had done that this weekend.  But in the end I called, explained the situation, and they said since all of the "dr. stuff" will be done before the 30th they would love to do one more cycle with me.  Baseline came back with no cysts, so one last injects+IUI cycle before my fertility coverage is gone.

On a lighter note, I got to stick it to my insurence company a bit.  I pay $60 copay for injects, no matter how many I get.  Last time we kept having to go back to the pharmacy because I needed more then we thought and I spent $180 on meds last month (still a steal as I would have paid $1600, but still more then I would have had to if we knew how many we would have used).  So this month I talked my dr into over-guestimate based on what we did last month.  We did 16 vials of Menopur, he wasn't to up it so he was guessing 20, but ordered 24 for good measure.  After the pharmacist spent 30 minutes on the phone with the insurence company, I took home $2500 worth of Menopur and paid $60...pretty nice to round off my last month.

  • Still sick, still TTA, still frustrated and bitter. Basically nothing is new on my end.

But on a happier note, I'm going to a my family reunion next weekend and I'm really excited! All of us kids haven't been together in almost 2 years. It should be fun. Minus the fact that my SIL is 18 weeks pg even though they didn't want kids for another 5 years....

Oh, and DH and I are redecorating our guest room bathroom and I'm having fun with that. I'm really hoping it will look great in the end.

I'm pissed at myself.  I got on the scale today and I've gained weight.  I've been too generous to myself allowing sweets and little to no activity.  So I decided to start moving!  I went for a long walk on Sunday and Monday and then today I broke out my Gazelle workout.  It felt good to get sweaty and my legs were shaking when I was done Smile

In TTC news...we are doing a transfer of our frozen embabies this month.  Once I O, we will do the transfer 3 days later.  I'm not really feeling yay or nay about this whole thing...just going through the motions.  It's reaaaally nice to not be on any meds though and I feel like myself, which I haven't in quite some time.

    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets

  • I'm on birth control pills. Oh joy! My second IUI was cancelled due to a giant cyst on my right ovary. I'm back and forth between feeling beat down and just feeling like oh well. Either way there is nothing I can do about it so I might as well suck it up. But F$&@ it's hard.

I am feeling extremely blessed as a friend I have has a connection to get my medications dirt cheap! I was worried we might need to borrow some money from my folks especially if the 7 vials didn't cut it. I was quoted $773 for them, about $110 per vial. With this connection, I'll have to order them in 5s so I'll end up with 10 for $172!!!! I about sh*t myself. That's only $17 per vial! I was/still am just speechless.

So I'm trying to focus on that good news rather than the bad news about my current cycle.

  • LauraKat- that is an awesome price!! I am so happy for you, much more affordable!

We are moving into our new house in VA on Saturday. I cant wait. we arent closing which sucks but the current owners have agreed to let us move in because the closing date got pushed back and we are homeless since my husband's deployment got cancelled. I am going to have to live with the current ugliness because we arent allowed to change anything but the paint until we close but I guess living with an ugly kitchen, and floors is better than being homeless.

I am not sure if I told you all but in April they found a tumor in my back. Because of my insurance and moving so much I am just now finally getting an MRI to get more info about my tumor. They are thinking it is quite big or that I have more than one because I am losing feeling in my arm. i just hope we get some answers today and it isnt anything serious like cancer. I also hope they think it will be easy to remove but it is between and under my ribs so I am thinking not.

Baby 4 EDD is this weekend and I am really sad. EDD suck

Since my husband isn't deploying we can start TTC again. I have mixed feelings about this. I guess I just dont want anymore disappointment. I also haven't met my new RE yet and I had such a wonderful one before I feel like the new one isnt going to measure up. Also back after MC#3 we said we are going to stop trying after MC#6. never thought we would get close to that number but here I am with MC#5. I just dont want this to be the end but my husband does...

AHHH i wish we could all just get knocked up and stay pregnant. It isnt fair (stomps foot)

I'm still in my 2ww. I go in for betas on Monday. *fingers crossed*

My last day of school was yesterday! I'm so excited for summer! I don't have to report back until Aug. 22nd! Hooray!!

DH and I are thinking about getting a lab puppy. We've always wanted one. And, this kid thing isn't really working right now....we want to expand our fur baby family. We currently have 2 kitties.

I love labs!!! Seriously the best dogs ever! We have an almost 2 year old chocolate lab and he is sooo good! Lots of people warned us that he'd do nothing but chew for about the first 2 years but we only had chewing issues for a few months (when he was about 6-9 months old). I now want a black and a yellow lab too but we already have 3 dogs and 3 cats. Pretty sure DH would kill me! if you do get one you must post pics!

FX for you!!  I like your idea of expanding your furbaby family.  I told DH about a month ago that I want another one too.  (this was right after my BFFN)  He only knows me too well....  I ask the same thing every cycle I am disappointed...Indifferent

As for me, I was able to take Femara this month (no large cycsts!!!)  But I'm a little nervous because my O date is always so late and I was under the impression it would be sooner than normal.  I have had 4 days of EWCM but only BFN OPKS!!  Super Angry  So now I just wait and wait.  But I am glad to have a plan this cycle.  The last few  being annovulatory and extrememly looonnnnggg have made me CRazY!

  • It's been a pretty depressing few weeks.

My grandpa passed away on the same day I started my new job. We buried him yesterday and it was so hard to say good bye. He is in the same cemetery as my 1st husband and my dad. The memories of their funerals came rushing back as well so it was just a really hard day.

My new job is going well. I love working from home and the people I work with are really really nice.  The only downfall is I deal with websites that are geared around everything baby all day. Seeing the baby stuff is hard.  Thankfully I'm home so I don't have to put on a happy face while I work.

On the TTC front I'm frustrated with my CBFM. I started getting high readings on the 2nd and am still getting them today. It my first month using it so I expected a few high days but not two weeks of them.  I'm afraid that I am not ovulating and thats why it's staying high for so long. Only time will tell.  I am also charting but it's hard to tell whats going on with my body anyway. I'm beginning to hate all of this again. If I don't get AF soon I'll have to be put on BC.  I'm feeling like the odds are against me.

This is a P&R but when I get back I'm looking forward to catching up on everyone's updates.

Same ole same ole here.
Glad to hear you are still doing good.
  • imageAllie-Jo:

My BFF for the last 13 years and I went on a BFF-cation this last weekend.

    FX this is your cycle.

Still sick, still TTA, still frustrated and bitter.

I always hope that you are going to feel better soon. Have great time at your family reunion and post pics of your bathroom!
  • I gained weight during my IVF too so don't feel too bad. I'm so happy you are doing your FET this month.  Good luck you know I'm always thinking of you.

Delino - I put on 3-5lbs over the course my IVF cycle... you can blame it on that Wink

Update - I started estrace today for FET#2 next month!! Super super super busy at work... trying to wind up a project so I can have one less thing on my plate while we're prepping for our transfer

    Good luck on FET #2
  • Boo! to BCPs but  congrats on scoring cheap meds! Anything that eases the financial burden of TTC is good!
  • imageufsandra85:

LauraKat- that is an awesome price!!

How did your MRI go?  I hope they found it less serious than anticipated.

I'm also at MC#5 and even though I feel helpless I'm still not ready to give up. Good luck this cycle.

  • Things on the TTC front are looking pretty good right now. The Femera did it's job and I ovulated on CD17 (which is unheard of for me, so yay for meds getting my body to work for once!) My post-O temps are sustained and high which is also something that hasn't happened for me for a while, so another yay! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high - our timing was not perfect for this cycle, so the chances are slim. It's just nice to have a short cycle and know that my next chance to try will likely come sooner rather than later.

Other than that things are pretty good, but very busy. It seems like there's something on every front these days - work, home life, TTC, family, etc. A little overwhelming at times, but we're heading off to our cabin for the weekend and I hope that some time away will do us both good.

I'm on birth control pills.

I'm sorry your IUI was cancelled. I hope that this next one works for you. And that's great about the med prices! Hope you can keep focusing on the good news rather than the bad (but I sympathize - it's frustrating when a cycle you had high hopes for turns out to be a bust.)

LauraKat- that is an awesome price!!

Wow - you have a lot on your plate right now. Big hugs - EDDs do suck, and it's not fair. I really hope the tumor is not cancer and that they can deal with it as quickly and painlessly as possible. You'll be in my ts&ps.
