I have had pretty bad rib cage and upper back pain since week 20. The last 2 days have been really bad and I had my 30-week appointment today and my doctor suggested accupuncture or a chiropractor. When I was going through fertility treatments I did accunpuncture and hated it. I am debating going to a chiropractor but I do not think my insurance will cover it.
Anyone have success with a chiropractor and pregnancy aches and pains?
Re: Anyone go to a chiropractor?
I just went last Thursday, and I'm going back in again tomorrow. I'm mostly going to help with baby positioning (Webster's technique helps to keep baby head-down). As a bonus, I notice that with each adjustment, my hip/back pain is relieved!
I saw a prenatal chiro with DS for fetal positioning as well, as he was breech at 31 weeks. He flipped to head-down by 32 weeks and stayed head-down the rest of the time. I went once a week, and plan to do the same this time around as well.
HTH! You can likely find a chiro trained and certified in prenatal care through this website: https://icpa4kids.org/Find-a-Chiropractor/

I thought I remember seeing on a post somewhere that you lived in the Houston area...are you seeing Dr. Long? I have an appointment next Monday for my SPD and I can't wait! I heard she is awesome.
i work for a chiropractor, so i get adjustments whenever i need them, most of the time once a week.
it sounds like you may have a rib misalignment! that can be pretty painful :
if your insurance doesn't cover it, check into a clinic anyway. we have cash plans for $35 a visit, and i'm sure most chiropractors have about the same rate for those without insurance coverage.
