FP Rainforest or Boppy Bouncer

We've registered for a neutral colored Boppy Bouncer because I don't care for the look of the FP rainforest. I'm wondering if we should reconsider. Even though I hate the FP colors, I've heard that a lot of babies are more content in a bouncer like the rainforest instead of something really neutral without a lot of activities like the boppy. I've also read that you should make sure you like the look of your bouncer because you might take a lot of pictures in it. Is this a big deal?

Personally I hate how the Rainforest stuff looks but I got all my stuff in it because I've heard babies like it, and it's gender neutral.

I wanted to get the boppy but ended up registering for the rainforest bouncer. I had to rationalize with myself that the purpose of it is to entertain baby, not look good in my living room. I hate the look of it but I'm thinking it will keep his interest longer- which I'm sure will be valuable when I'm trying to get something done!

I went with the FP rainforest stuff as well b/c I figured it would be more stimulating for the baby. ?On a side note KMart has their FP Rain forest collection on sale right now.

Any thoughts on the Fisher Price rockers? I just assumed it was better to go with a bouncer, and we haven't even considered the rockers. What did you get?

i have a boppy swing and a rainforest bouncer from my sister. Its supposed to stimulate. I remmeber reading a post here from a girl on 0-6 and she said she bought all big items in neutral to match her home, she said her baby hated all the items and when she got the childish colored ones the baby loved them. It still may work if not that stimulating but it wont keep them occupied long imo.

bouncers and swings are usually what people get--i don tknow about the rocker. The boucner would seem more fun to me for a baby.

there are other ones that are colorful too and not so obnoxious. My sister had one for her first that was a FP one but it was blue and had some nice deco hanging from it--dont know if they make the exact one anymore. She had the Rainforst for her next and liked it but not as much. I would just get one thats eye catching

I just can't stomach the rainforest bouncer. Ick! And the baby is in the bouncer for such a short period of time anyway. I opted not to get it at all and went for the boppy tummy time mats.

Despite the look of it, the rainforest stuff has always been a big hit in our house.

In my experience it matters more that they are more upright so they can see their surroundings and later be able to eat in it before they are ready for the highchair. Oh and if it doesnt vibrate that is a HUGE deal breaker

my sisters little ones hated the vibration factor--I guess it depends--each baby is different. But They did use them for a good 5-6 mos so they are used often like you said--and being upright is important.

I'm getting some Boppy travel swing- can NOT stomach the look of the rainforest stuff- why can't they make something that looks normal?

They like bright colors but what I would be concerned with is how long, if it needs batteries, it will run before shutting off. ?We have a chair that vibrates and plays music but it shuts off after 20 minutes and the baby wakes up.

get the rainforest pattern so your little one is occupied. Throw a neutral towel over it if you want to get a pic in it.

I think the crazy parent tunnel vision gene kicks in and you'll only see your baby looking cute as heck and not even notice the pattern of the bouncer.

Fisher Price is coming out with a new pattern it's called Precious Planet. I think it's really cute. If you google it Amazon shows the swing, bouncer and the high chair in the pattern. It's going to be released in Jan.

I have a neutral Boppy bouncer and swing and DD wasn't interested in them at all for the toys because they were "boring" colors to her. She loves all her bright baby toys. Go for something baby will enjoy.
