Thanks with the help on boy's names. Now, which girl name do you like best?
by the way, Selah is pronounced SAY-la (for those wondering). I know there would always be trouble with the pronunciation of this name, but I love the meaning.
Just added Maeve Caroline on the list because others have suggested that before. Along with other edits to list....I just can't make up my mind for 5 minutes.
Hi! All beautiful names . I have a daughter who was born last summer and her name is Caroline. I posted a few days ago about being a bit disheartened by the explosion of baby Carolines over the last year. I did HOURS of research on the popularity and trends over the last few years (in my area, countrywide, how the trend was moving, etc) and definitely did not expect my daughter to be on of FOUR Carolines out of the 7 girl babies that I have met since last summer. The ladies on this board are amazing and made me feel a lot better after I posted. However, despite my continuing love for the name, I would probably choose a different first name if I could do it all over. If popularity is something that does not bother you at all, then please disregard--I just wish someone had shared this insight when I was choosing a name.
Great choices! I voted Elsa Caroline. I love Maeve but I think it doesn't flow the greatest with your middle name choices. Elsa is so lovely and underused, a hidden gem!! Caroline is also great but getting so popular as a FN, IMO. Selah is just ok. I know a little girl with it, pronounced the same way, but it pales in comparision to Elsa and Maeve.
I actually like Selah - it is different and more interesting than your other choices. It sounds really pretty. Honestly, who cares that people will have to be corrected - this happens even with simple names quite often and certainly happens with last names so how is it different for first names? I don't get when people use this as an argument against using a name. Seriously? You're "saddling" your child with a burden by having the them have to correct their FN often? Whatever.
I like it - pretty and not too common. Go for it!! (Voted for Rose for MN, not a fan of Heaven at all - too cliche and tacky IMO).
I voted for Maeve Caroline, not that I dislike Willow, but I don't like the initials MW. They are my DH's too and something about the similarity next to each other is unappealing to me.
I find Selah very pretty and refreshing, so voted for Selah Rose. It has much more individuality than your other choices, although many of them are also lovely.
I have a first name which requires constant corrections on pronunciation. No big deal. I like having an unusual name.
I voted for Maeve Willow, love it!! The only one I really don't care for is Selah Haven, for three reasons: 1. There's something a little too Psalm-y about Selah Haven. (I know you said it's not Heaven, but it still sounds/feels the same.) That said, I adore Haven, and could be ok with Selah, just with a less religious name paired with either. 2. My other problem with Selah is that I always hear someone saying "Sailor" with a faux-Southern accent and/or a speech impediment. So Selah Haven, sounds like that same person saying "Sailor Heaven." 3. Double word names are almost always problematic, and this one's no exception.

I voted Maeve Caroline. So feminine and classic!

Good luck choosing!
Thanks.
By the way, it's Haven...definitely not Heaven...just wanted to say that in case anyone else is confused.
I adore Maeve!
