Rh- and RhoGam

in 3rd Trimester

I am Rh-, DH is Rh+. I have had the RhoGam shot before and I know that you are supposed to get it at 28 weeks and after birth. I have an appt tomorrow and I am 28w2d. 

How many ladies on here have Rh- blood and have had the shot at 28 weeks? Anything that I need to know? Any risks?

    I had my shot around 27 weeks.  The shot is quick and it just a little sting.  I don't think there are any risks.  Nothing to worry about.

    I've had it three times now (amnio, regular 28w, and after a fall at 32w) and it was NBD - just a shot.  The last two times I got it in the arm, first time in the bum.

    I've only heard of the risks of not getting it... which are SCARY.

    Yeah, that's what I've heard too.  

    I've gotten the shot in the butt twice.

    I had it at 28 weeks, it was offered in the butt or arm.  It was NBD.

    I'm RH- and had my shot at 28 weeks.  Mine was in the butt and I barely felt it, and it didn't even get sore after.  It was no big deal.

    I've had it a number of times (if I count it up it's a total of 5 times due to 3 pregnancies, bleeding in one of them requiring an extra shot and 1 ectopic)........never been a big deal. 

    I haven't had to have it after delivery of either of my girls though, as they were both RH-ve as well (we don't know DH's RH status, but it actually doesn't matter as it's solely based on the mothers status).  They will test a bit of the babies blood (from the placenta/cord after delivery) to see if you need the shot after delivery or not.

    I've had 2 with this pregnancy so far.  2 with DS as well.   piece of cake.  No risks.

    Got mine around 27 weeks.  For some reason I didn't realize it was in the bum - but other than that it was no big deal.  i was given a little card to take to the hospital with me so they'd know to do another one.
