Our beautiful baby girl was born 1 day early after my water broke on it's own at home at 2:30 AM. I ended up getting started on pitocin because I wasn't contracting at all. I ended up getting an epidural after about 4 painful hours on the pitocin and only 1 cm of progress. Unfortunatly the dr. nicked the fluid sac around my spinal cord causing me to have a very immediate and intense headache. The headache subsided and I was able to rest. Finally at about 12:45 I felt like I could push. Because it was the weekend there was only one doctor available and apparently more than a few of us in labor. I had to hold out on pushing for awhile after the nurse realized that I wouldn't need to push for long. Finally at about 2:35 pm the Dr. walked in, bearly gowned up and I pushed 2 more times and our little girl was here! Jolene Lois was born at 2:42 PM and weighed 7 lbs and 4 oz and 20 inches long. She is perfect I am feeling well and my hubby is loving being a daddy.
