Swollen feet..omg. PIP

So my feet have been swelling on and off for a few weeks now but tonight was definitely the worst!! I was at the beach for 2 hours today (drinking tons of water too) and this was the outcome. My poor feet :(  Living in Florida where the humidity level is at like 90% and 92 degrees does not help!!

Anyone else struggling with swelling like this??

  • Oh no!!! Get a couple of bags of peas and lay them on those puppies! Feel better. Keep them elevated!

  • Mine looked like that the summer I was pregnant with DD1...

    Never give up!

  • The only time mine have looked like that was post partum after 26 hrs of labor and being on fluids for so long.  It took about a week for them to go down.  It was a sad sight to see!

Keep your feet elevated and just keep flushing it out with water.  You'll be peeing a lot, but its flushing it out.  Oh and definitely cut out salt.  Whenever I eat salty, I am sure to swell in my fingers and feet/ankles.  I also live in FL and I know what you mean about this crazy humidity!!

  • eeeek! That's what I was rockin' last weekend, we had spent 5 hours in the car to Ohio for our baby shower, then 5 hours back home 2 days later. When I got home, as I was walking around, I felt like there was Jello under my skin, jiggling with each step I took. Luckily after a long night's sleep I was back to normal the next day.

Be sure to drink a LOT of water, I know it seems counter intuitive but I guess the more dehydrated you are, the more your body will want to retain fluids. You'll pee a ton but it's a small price to pay!

  • Wow that looks painful!!!! I live in SoFla too so am with you in the humidity! Fortunately I have had no swelling at all but I have really low blood pressure and have been told to eat more sodium rich foods... I guess I'm the other end of the scale :)

Hope it gets better for you

  • My feet looked just like that on Sunday. I was in the car on our way home to Texas from the FL/AL border and it felt like my skin was going to burst. My husband got super worried because he said my face was a tiny bit swollen too. I drink a lot of water but I guess it just isn't enough still. Once I put my feet up on the dash the swelling went down considerably and didn't return as badly as it was. I swell at work too so my shoes get super tight, I'm looking for a box or something to put under my desk for my feet. :(

  • Mine haven't swollen yet but I read somewhere that drinking water with lemon helps a lot, so I have been trying to always add lemon to my water.  Prop those babies up!  That looks uncomfortable.
