I have an anterior placenta and a lot of my ultrasound pictures show him facing my placenta. Does an anterior placenta typically mean a posterior (sunny side up) baby?
I asked my doctor the same question. He said generally, no, but it depends on how short the cord is. If the cord is rather short, then there's not enough room for the baby to turn.

I don't think so. I have a posterior placenta, and unfortunately today at my 39 week appointment found out I have a posterior baby, too. But he's been facing a different way each of the last 3 visits, so I'm hoping that means he'll turn in time.
DD1: Posterior placenta, posterior (sunny side up) delivery
DD2: Anterior placenta, presented normally (and fast, with no back labour - yay)
DD3: Anterior placenta, still cooking, but is moving between back to back and facing my back (I'vev been using spinning babies techniques to try and get her to settlle into the left side, facing right or into my back).
Re: does anterior placenta=posterior baby?
Mine have gone like this:
DD1: Posterior placenta, posterior (sunny side up) delivery
DD2: Anterior placenta, presented normally (and fast, with no back labour - yay)
DD3: Anterior placenta, still cooking, but is moving between back to back and facing my back (I'vev been using spinning babies techniques to try and get her to settlle into the left side, facing right or into my back).
