I have back to back baby showers the next two weeks and just realized none of my heels fit me. My feet are sausages and I can't squeeze into any of them. Anyone else have this problem with their feet and swelling? If it were up to me, I'd wear flips for my showers but both showers are too fancy for that. Anyone have to purchase new shoes just for their shower?
Re: Swelling and shoes
When i stopped working at 34 weeks I stopped wearing shoes. Only flipflops. I would maybe look for some fancier sandals is you need them. I can't imagine if this was a winter baby and i had to wear shoes the entire time.
My job sometimes requires me to go to court. Today was my last day, and when I tried to put on my dress shoes my feet were overflowing, so I ended up just wearing my sandles. (Not flip flops, but not exactly dressy either).
If I were you I wouldn't buy a pair of shoes just to have something dressy to wear for baby showers, but if you're one of those women who likes to buy new shoes and it makes you happy then go for it. It's as good excuse as any to buy a new pair!
I would absolutely wear flip flops! It is your shower and no one can blame you for wanting to be comfy
I had DS in April in Wisconsin...it snowed the day I had him. I was wearing crocs for the last month or two.
Baby BOY is due May 23, 2014!
It's not quite klassy, but I bought some (fake) crocks a size too big, so that when my feet really swell (they're starting) they'll fit. Not great for a fancy party, and they really don't go with my work dress code, but I'm beyond caring at present. Lol
Are the parties going to be air conditioned? Maybe you could just wear some pretty socks instead of heels?
I feel your pain-I went through multiple pairs of shoes trying to find some that fit for my shower last weekend. I ended up wearing a nicer pair of flip flops.
I would either wear flip flops or get a cheap pair of nicer sandals/shoes at somewhere like payless.
