PAL Moms.. labor question....*tmi*

Hi Ladies...

did any of your bodies go through a "purging" period where you were having constant diarrhea (sp?) and throwing up?  for the past two days, I can't seem to keep the throw up feeling from going away, and I have had constant dairrhea... It's been like 3 times already today, and I am extra iron that has me normally constipated....just curious.   and I have not eaten anything different that would cause the issues... infact, I have barely an appetite at all.

I do have a c-section planned for Monday morning, but I am nervous that I might go into labor before then, and it scares me b/c of the heparin issues that will arise.... make sense?

  • I never did but I know it's a common symptom and a friend of mine had that happen to her.

If you start having contractions, I would go to the hospital early so that they can get the c-section underway.

  • yeah... I read that both are an "impending" labor thing...

the issue I have, if I do start having contrax (which I have no idea what they feel like, doh!) is that since I am on Heparin, I can not have the spinal until 12 hours after my last shot... which was late today.... 11am.... it should have been closer to 7am..but i was out shopping. oops.

which means, that I either have to labor during that 12 "clearance" period, or they will have to put me completely under for the c-section, which I really don't want....

and I could be worrying for nothing.... but you know how that goes.

  • I had diarrhea the day before & nausea, but nothing the day i went into labor.?

    good luck!?

  • i had diarrhea but no throwing up... it can be different for everyone, but i know nausea is common, but not constant throwing up... you might have a bug... :(

  • I did have a "purging" period for a week before going into labor.  I have heard that its kinda common to have diarrhea shortly before going into labor.  I did not throw up at all though.  As long as you are getting fluids and have no fever you should be ok.  You can always give a call to the Dr. for some advice and reassurance.
