molars

So DD was being changed at daycare this morning and I was sort of calming her down - happy to let someone else change the diaper though.  Anyway, I noticed, for the first time that at least one of her rear molars was almost completely in.

How did I not notice this before - i have been waiting for her other two bottom front teeth and never suspected molars.

I really need to get on the dentist appointment

Re: molars

  • Same with us!!  I knew he was teething because of all the drooling, face rash etc but I just though he was getting his other bottom teeth (currently just has the 2).  But yesterday, my MIL actually found a full blown molar that had popped in...and another 2 on the way!!!!
  • this is actually a relief to hear someone else say this - i was really begin to wonder how I missed this development and could not believe it - but I guess when you are waiting for the more common teeth to pop up, it is strange to expect molars.

  • Yep Macy has been working on a bottom molar for what seems like weeks now. It's about halfway through, and judging from our night last night, the other half is soon to follow.

  • Same here. Last night I was feeding Bay and I noticed when she opened her mouth really wide that she had 1 molar already poped through the skin and on the other side her gum is all swollen. Crazy how these feel like they just sprung up on us....

  • I had no idea her top molars are poking through.  I was playing and turned her upside down and saw into her mouth and there they were.  We're also still waiting for the other two bottom teeth so I didn't expect it.
  • I think the molars often come before the canines.  Sam has two almost through...at least that's what I think I see when I can actually get a look in his mouth.

This is what is happening to us, DD is cutting one top molar but has no canines, and still only 2 teeth on the bottom.

  • Wow! I haven't even tried to look in the very back of DD's mouth. She's still working on the incisors on the left side of her mouth, so I didn't even think to look farther back.
