The percentile post reminded me of this... Wyatt had a lot of weight concerns from the beginning (being over 9lbs, using nipple shields and then dropping off his curve around 4 months) and I'm considering buying an at home scale to use for this baby. I figure that if we have similar concerns I won't have to run into town with 2 kids and fight with one to weigh him and the other to stay close.
Have any other moms had one? How much did you spend on one if you did? I plan to ask the nurse at Wyatt's appointment this week if they would make me bring the baby in anyway to have him weighed, but I figured I would ask here as well.
Re: At home baby scale?
At home baby scales usually are the dangly kind, but they aren't as reliable, so they probably will insist you bring in LO for weight checks.
The LC brought one like this to our house when she came to help with DS nursing and to make sure he was getting enough milk.

I have this one. I needed the peace of mind! It worked great for us last time and we'll be using it again.
I'm planning to get this one. At $50 seems to be least expensive and has great reviews.

I also had weight and nursing issues with DS. He lost a LOT of weight his first week and we had no idea until his 1 week pedi appt. He was struggling to nurse but would eventually seem to latch but it turns out he wasn't getting enough milk because he was tongue tied. If we'd have had a scale we would have figured this out sooner and my baby wouldn't have suffered so much that first week.
