Sonograms... STM?

I know I shouldn't be concerned, because less U/S means a healthy baby most of the time, but how many U/S (on average) do you usually get throughout your pregnancy.

I don't think theres any problems, I'm just curious about possible birth weight. I'm only 31 weeks, I've had 2, one at 6 weeks and one at 18. and I've had two electives but I'm wondering when they might do another, if they are going to?

With DS, I had one at about week 10, then had the 1st tri screen with u/s at week 11-12, the a/s at 18 weeks and an u/s with NST because I went over my EDD.

I seem to be following the same schedule with this LO.

With ds, I had one at 12 weeks, one at 20 weeks and that would have been it, but I needed another one at 36 weeks and 38 weeks for IUGR.

This time I have had 12 u/s so far because I have cervical issues.

With DS I only had one. With this one, I'll be having two (one at 19 wks, one again at 32 wks).

I'm not a STM, but so far I've had 1 at 8w,9w,12w,20w,23w, and I'm having one Thursday at 31 weeks. Totally healthy pregnancy...just a few issues with the ultrasound. Lol

I'm a FTM and I had 3 -> 6w6d, 9w, and 21w. As far as I know that's it.

Two is common in a "normal" pregnancy. One to date and one anatomy scan. I have had 14 i think and will be having a few more. I only had two with DS though.

2 is common because that's all insurance companies will pay for. I've had 3 but because I was initially high risk from have had 2 previous MC's and for having gotten pregnant while being diagnosed with fertility issues. First was to check for HB and to make sure baby is growing, all that. 2nd was at 10 wks to confirm 7 wk one. Then the AS at 19 wks. I hope my dr will send me for another one!!! But I doubt it.

You probably won't get another one unless a problem arises. My OB usually only orders 2.

We had 2 with DD and 1 elective. With this baby, there are some concerns, so we've had 3 ordered so far and I was told to expect at least 1 more. No electives this go round.

First time around, I had 3: initial, nuchal,and anatomy scan.

This time, I've had many more, as I've had some complications that require follow-up and am measuring "small" according to OB, so she has been checking on growth, which has been completely normal.

I like the opportunity to see my baby, but honestly, am tired of going in all the time. Just because my first was 6 lbs and this one will probably also be, doesn't mean there is a problem. Not everyone has 9 lb. babies!

I had one at 7 weeks, one at 20, and my Dr does another for growth at 32-34 weeks. I'm excited becuase next week will be the first one DH has been able to see.

Most doctors do 1-3 with a normal pregnancy. Some only do 20 weeks, some do dating (first tri) and anatomy (20 weeks), and some do dating, anatomy, and growth (36ish weeks). Usually the people who get more have an ultrasound happy doctor or they have a higher risk pregnancy. I had an SCH (bleed) in first tri so I had two additional ultrasounds vs. the normal three my doctor usually does.

My first pregnancy I had a total of 5. Early dating one, NT scan, anatomy scan, one to rule out breech at about 34 weeks, and one a week after my due date to check that everything was still good.

This time I have had 5 already. Two early ones to check growth/viability due to past m/c, NT scan, anatomy scan, and to check that placenta previa had resolved. I'm not anticipating having any more. I don't think there will be a reason to unless I go past my due date again.
