Big surprise at first ultrasound!

I had my first ultrasound yesterday at 5 weeks 6 days and we were ecstatic to see a healthy heartbeat! I noticed the nurse looking really closely at something when she finally said "I think you have twins!"

I didn't really believe her but sure enough there was a second heartbeat and embryo. They are both measuring at 5 weeks 6 days. Baby A's hb was 116bpm and baby B was 117 bpm. They are identical. I have a follow up u/s on June 20th, but we are so excited and terrified at the same time!

Big surprise! Congratulations!

I was just wondering if our birth month was going to have any twins. I saw January has 7 or 8.

I'm a fraternal twin, so we'll see if there's just one at my ultrasound next month.
