Switching from Similac Sensitive to Similac Advance

Has anyone tried to change formulas now that our LO's are older? Our daycare offers free Similac Advance and with DD eating a significantly larger amount the last few weeks I'm really feeling it in the pocket. Our provider suggested trying some over the weekend to see how DD does... has anyone tried this? I'm afraid she might still be sensitive and I'll make her sick... :/

Re: Switching from Similac Sensitive to Similac Advance

  • We use the Advance but got an awesome deal on the Sensitive so have been switching back and forth. DS doesn't seem to care---but has never had reflex issues or anything.

IMO-When mixed I think the Advance seems much smoother.

  • We switched DS from Alimentum to Advance when he was 4 months old because his reflux had significantly improved.  I was also afraid that he'd have a reaction to a sudden change so I mixed the bottles for 1 week.  I'd make each bottle with 1/2 of each of the powders.  He took to it without a problem.  I probably could have just done it cold turkey, but I wanted to be extra careful.

  • We just switched from Enfamil Gentleease to Enfamil Infant with no problem. Poops are a little wetter and different smelling. And a few more loud farts but it doesn't seem to bother him. (sorry for being so direct!)

  • We just tried switching this week from alimentum to regular advance.  I switched back this morning because I wasn't happy with how the poop situation was going.  His face is breaking out, and his poops went from once every other day to twice a day and were getting runnier.  Could be coincidence, but it was making me uncomfortable.
