I am only 29 weeks and my feet, hands, and face are getting more and more swollen each day. At my appointment on Monday, I had gained 7 lbs in 2.5 weeks. My blood pressure and urine were normal but I am getting really nervous. My 1st was induced at 38 weeks due to high blood pressure and swelling. This seems so early and just don't know what to think of it. My doctor says to try to stay off my feet and relax as there is nothing medically wrong yet, i.e. no high blood pressure or protein in urine. I know I need him to bake quite a few more weeks but things are really starting to scare me.
Could there be anything else causing the swelling except high blood pressure?
Thoughts?

Does the swelling subside overnight when you are off your feet or do you have some swelling all the time? Has the doctor ruled out polyhydramnios? I only mention it because you sound exactly like I did my first pregnancy and that what the issue was. DS was totally healthy so don't freak out over any google searches or anything.
If you still are having this issue at your next appointment or have another weight gain jump...ask. It can be diagnosed with an ultrasound. Or at least ruled out.
In the meantime...stay off your feet, be aware of your sodium levels and stay in air conditioning if you can as the weather gets warmer (even in the PNW).
I gained 8 lbs in two weeks! And my belly is measuring two weeks ahead...so basically my belly grew 4 weeks worth within two weeks. I also have a lot of swelling and it doesn't get that much better after a night's rest.
I will mention it at my next doctor's appt but I just thought this was completely normal....
