Hospital bag - what do you pack for the baby?

Just clothes? Don't the hospitals provide diapers and things like that (I know not all of them do)? I'm not packing mine anytime soon, just want to know for future reference.

I'll be packing a couple pacis, a couple outfits, socks, a hat, swaddler, and some baby lotion. I may also pack a few diapers... I know the hospital provided them before, but I feel weird not taking any for some reason. I may take some wipes as well... I'm pretty picky about what I use.

Is there anything special you want him to wear for photos? Our hospital has a professional photographer come in and do a session now. You might want to bring your breast pump and/or pillow if you plan to use them. Otherwise, I think we just brought some clothes. Maybe a blanket, but they do have them. They provided everything else.

I think we are just going to bring the coming home outfit. Our hospital provides everything else. They do not give out pacifers, so we were told if we wanted to use it that we would have to bring it or else we'd have to get the doctor to write a prescription for it.

I'll bring a couple of onesies and sleepers and a coming home outfit

Also a swaddle blanket (we never got a good swaddle with the hospital blanket)

Maybe a couple of different kinds of pacis would be good to have on hand, just in case. I think the hospitals only use soothies but DS hated those.

Diapers and wipes not necessary - they'll have those there.

We're only taking the coming home outfit and a blanket for the ride home.

My hospital provides everything you need. Diapers, wipes, pacis, ointment, hat, blankets, kimono style shirt (DS just wore that and a diaper since he was swaddled most of the time), formula is you plan to FF. Then they send a bunch of it home with you.

Coming home outfit plus an extra change of clothes...my DS had his first blowout in his coming home outfit at the hospital so we ended up taking him home in a hospital shirt. Also, the hospital I'm delivering at has dry wipes that you have to wet so they suggested bringing our own so I am.

In addition to what's already been posted I'm including a hairbrush and some nail clippers.

My daughter came out with a full head of hair and it was nice to get it under control for pictures.

And she had crazy talons. So I had to clip them before we even left the hospital since she was scratching up my breasts.
