We are trying to decide if we need one. Currently we have two nice recliners in the to be nursery and I'm wondering if these will do or will I regret not getting one?
I loved the glider with my first. I had a twin bed and a glider in the second's room and it was easier to use the bed. I'd just double check that the arms on the recliners are at a nice height for holding baby and giving a bottle/nursing. If that's fine there should be no need for anything else.
I have both. We used the glider a lot when she was an infant. It was very comfortable, especially when you are up for 3 hours in the middle of the night. We use the rockng chair now that she is older for storytime or whatever.

Since I'm a FTM, everything is new to me and I rely on my mother a lot to help me with what I need. She said that a rocking chair was one of the best things to have when I was little so I should absolutely get one. I think I'll listen to her.
I'm undecided. They are very comfy at the stores, though. DH thinks it's a necessity. I'm just concerned about a) another cost and b) space in the nursery.

I think we are just getting an overstuffed chair to put in the nursery. It's more comfortable, and I spent many, many hours sleeping in our wooden glider with W.

We're getting the rocking chair my parents used for me, so we're not buying either. The only thing is that we need a cushion for it, and then we'll be all good.
They had a ton of fabric options..and I picked a fabric that would match my guest bedroom instead afterwards. It is a black and white swirly fabric. Looks cute in the nursery...but since this looks more like a chair...than a traditional glider I could justify spending the money.
Hubby is 6'3 and used to give DS his bottle every night in this chair. I am 5'8. We didnt get the ottoman though.
we have a sherman glider from BRU and i LOVE it! i've spend many a sleepless night rocking my DD, and i look forward to happy memories with our next LO as well.
Re: Are you getting a glider / rocking chair?
I can not wait to get a glider.
I think they are very comfy.
