Those who have read the Outlander series.... (NBR)

Recently, Camjack posted a thread on good reads so I took the advice of reading the Outlander series that some of you mentioned. I just finished the second chapter, and before I give it up I wanted to ask.... is it just slow at first?? I am forcing myself to continue reading it in hopes it picks up.

I wish I could remember. I am finishing the 5th book right now and have the 6th waiting on my to be read pile. I read the first book a few years ago so I cannot remember what I thought of it. I cannot see as to where I would have kept reading if it was slow for a long time though. I would give it a couple more chapters. I really like the series.

It does start out slow, but it is really good. You should try to stick with it.

It does start out really slow I remember but totally worth it if you keep reading. If you like historical romance/fantasy it is a great read!

It took me quite a while to get into the book at first. I'd read a few pages, get bored, put it down, come back to it later.

I think the book, and the rest of the series, totally worth it once you get into the book, so I'd suggest powering through. Once I got through the initial slow part, I read all of the existing books quite quickly.

I love, love, love, love the series!!!! I was actually disappointed when I finished the last one b/c the next one isn't due out till December. I tell everyone to read the series. I bought all the books on half.com except the last one.

It starts out slow but definitely gets better. There is one other slow section about 2/3rds of the way through the book but if you can get through them the book as a whole is so worth it. I LOVE them!
