How many meals are you freezing?

I do not have a separate freezer, but as of right now I probably have frozen 10-12 days of food.

How many days of food/ meals are you freezing?

  • I did 12. I figure at that point I will probably start feeling pretty good. I am also thinking we will order out a couple of nights and some people may bring food by. I also stocked up on cans of soup and tuna.

  • None.  Between people bringing food and simple stuff I could throw together in 2 seconds' time, we didn't need anything frozen last time so I doubt we will this time.

  • I've got half a lasagna frozen but that's it. DH loves to cook and since he's a teacher, he's off all summer so he'll have plenty of time to do a few meals.

  • I have 8 so far...& I can't think of anything else I want to do. but there are some meals that are actual freezer meals (from the freezer section of the store) I can just whip up too.

Same here there was no need for them last time.  We just make sure we are stocked up from the store before my due date. I am not a fan of a lot of the meals that freeze easily anyway

  • I'm freezing about 9 meals but figure with leftovers (since they're big casseroles and there's just the 2 of us) that will last awhile. I also made pancakes, waffles, muffins, and banana bread and froze for breakfast. Plus we picked up a couple of frozen pizzas, and DH loves to grill so I'm sure he'll grill on the weekends.

None, My mom and mother-in-law are going to be in and out so they'll probably cook for us.  Plus, we plan to go to the store and stock up on easy prep meal stuff for a while.
  • My mom will be here after LO is born and she'll do some cooking and freezing for me.  I have one meal frozen and lots of meat that we can grill and all I need to do is defrost them.  I'm not worried about it.
  • None. We don't like casserole type meals. DH just grills fresh every night and we steam some veggies. It doesn't take much time at all. We plan to just keep doing that.

  • I have about 4 meals frozen and would love to do more but am out of freezer room. I find that freezing in glass Pyrex dishes with rubber lids really helps with the taste, although it takes a little more room than just using a freezer bag. One thing I haven't quite gotten down is how to effectively use up what I already have in my freezer. I tend to forget what's in there. I tried using a white board to inventory new items, so maybe I can do that again when things settle down and I am the main grocery-getter.

  • All I've done so far is freeze 2 dinners worth of pulled pork for pulled pork sandwiches and about 8 lemon blackberry coffee cake muffins. Our freezer is tiny and we can always make easy meals in a pinch.

  • We made a ton! 30+. We have a seperate freezer and spent several days making meals that can be frozen. I just wanted one less thing to have to think about/deal with.

Our big thing will be keeping snack food around and not having to run to the store all the time...going on Sunday for the last time be for DS is born...got a big list of snacks and other non-dinner items to buy, should be an interesting trip.
