I've never heard it as a first name, I know a few families with that as their last name - we are in the midwest. So, not sure if that matters to you, its nice though.
This, although as a PP said, it wouldn't be bad in the MN spot, and especially if it's a family name.

It's not terrible, but not something I would choose myself. I mostly see it as a surname. And for some reason, it seems a bit feminine to me, but perhaps that's because I went to school with a girl who often went by Hayes as it was her last name.

I never would have thought of it... but might keep it in the works for when I get to name someone... I would prob prefer for a girl though. It's my MILs maiden name, so I'm sure she'd appreciate the shout out.
