Mum Mums

My LO (almost 8 months) does not do well with them at all! He always chokes so hard he throws up. I think its breaking off in too big of pieces. Anyone else have a LO who has a hard time with these? If so, did you do puffs or anything else?

    i havent tried mum mums because they are just such a mess to me (which noramally I wouldn't care about her mess...) we give her puffs, gerber wagon wheels and the gerber cheeto things. They melt so fast that if she does gag on them it creates enough spit that it melts even faster.

    I haven't had a problem with mum-mums at all- they are my go-to now that DD can sit in high chairs are restaurants but can't always eat what we are eating.  I usually just hand her a mum-mum to knaw on.  They ARE easy to drop on the floor- I usually break them in half for her.  IMO mum-mums are less of a mess than lots of other things she eats!

    We also do puffs- she's just starting to be able to pick up the small star-shaped puffs, but she loves wagon wheels and the little sticks.

    Yes we are going on a Mum Mum hiatus. Same thing happens to us...he gags so bad that he voms. Like projectile voms. I can't even give him too thick of puree. So I will hold on to them and try again later. I don't know if it's possible, but his dad also has a very weak stomach and gag reflex, I'm afraid he is getting this from daddy. agh! Meanwhile I have a stomach of steel and can eat anything. Oh well.....

    My LO actually did good the 2 times we've given him a mum mum. He always chokes on the puffs even when we break them in half.

    The mum mums usually dissolve so fast that LO has yet to choke on them. We recently started the puffs but I feel like those don't disolve as fast as the mum mums. I think you'll just have to play around and see what your LO prefers.
