    Brook is a lot more classic... Brooklyn is pretty trendy. I think Brooke is 1000X better

    DH is the one pushing for Brooklyn then to call her Brooke (if it's even a girl!) but I really don't like Brooklyn, so I would rather pick a different name if he wouldn't do just Brooke. Beside that's it's one of the few names we both like...ugh!

    There are not many names I have a hatred for, but Brooklyn is one of them.  I don't understand why anyone likes this name.  I like Brooke a hundred thousand million times more than Brooklyn.

    Brooklyn has always sounded very trashy to me. Brooke is just okay to me, but it's 100x better than Brooklyn.

    Love Brooke. Just Brooke. As a compromise, how about Brooke Lynn with Lynn as the middle name? Brooke Linley is cute, too, and flows better.

    Brooke x a million. My name is Brooke, but I have heard "Brooklyn" my whole effing life and hate it. It's a city, it's super trendy, stripperish, etc. What does your DH like about it?

    Brooke is classic. Brooklyn is too trendy/cutesy. 

    And if he agrees to call her Brooke even if her name is Brooklyn, why even bother with the "lyn"?

    I agree that Brooke is prettier than Brooklyn and that Brooklyn sounds trashy. I also don't understand why your DH wants to name LO Brooklyn when he plans to call LO Brooke which is a common formal name not a nn.

    Brooke sounds like a stripper in the 80s and Brooklyn sounds like she had a teenage mother. I vote back to the drawing board.

    Brooke...I have a cousin who is a stripper, her stripper name is Brooklyn, this is all I can think of when I hear the name. Brooke to me sounds classy and Brooklyn to me sounds trashy. Just my own opinion of course...
