if you've got a cold, is that enough to give a false reading on a test? or does it not affect at all?

2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

A HPT is made to detect any HCG in your urine, being healthy or sick does not affect the HCG.

I wouldn't say stupid. Maybe just uneducated about how HPT's work? It always helps to read the box/instructions. It'll answer a lot of your questions first. Also, you may want to do research in general about TTC and the way the hormones work in your body. Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a book that is highly recommended by the ladies on this board. Also, a good video for both you and your SO/H, etc to watch together is The Great Sperm Race. You can find it on youtube.
There is a lot of information to be learned from the ladies on this board. But there is also an expectation of having a basic knowledge about how your body works and the TTC journey. Good luck!

The name is Angel. I'm 27 years old & DH is 28. We have been together for 12 years, married on May 21, 2011. We are TTC #1! I was diagnosed with endometriosis via laparoscopy in August 2010. Off of BC since March 2012. I am a 2nd year OB/GYN Resident physician. I love getting to be involved in precious miracles first moments of life, and I can't wait until the day we are blessed to have our own miracle!
