heads flops forward in roundabout

my dd has a roundabout now and when she is sleeping in it or falling asleep she has a hard time keeping her head from flopping around.  anyone else's dc have a problem keeping their head up while sleeping in the car seat?  she never had this problem in the infant seat but it's more reclined than the roundabout.  Obviously she is holding her head up fine normally when awake being 8 mo next week.  I checked the seat and it's all the way reclined.  We are having it checked on monday at the car seat installation place so I will double check w/ them.

Re: heads flops forward in roundabout

  • Hrm, not at all. I wonder whether it's at the right angle. My girls are pretty darn reclined in theirs, as were my older kids. Their heads used to fall forward more in their Snugrides than they do now.

  • Ditto Jody.  Are you sure the straps are tight enough?  Ours have never had that problem.
  • I'm pretty sure the straps are tight enough, when I put her in I always check to see if I can pinch the fabric on the straps after I tighten them.  Maybe it's the angle, how do we fix that?  just put it in again?  I'm so glad I have an appt at the installation place.

We had to use a rolled up towel in the crease of the seat and then install the carseat for it to be at the correct angle. It's explained in the roundabout manual. There should be a line on the side of the carseat for you to check if it's the angle it's installed. The line should be parallel to the ground.

  • Maybe it is the angle of the carseat which may be affected by the angle of the seat in the back of your car?  Does this make sense?  I'm sure the installation place will make sure it's installed properly.
  • I just looked up in the manual online, I think our angle is off.  we also saw in there about using a towel or pool noodle in the crease of the seat.  We will fix it tomorrow!  Thanks guys :)
