STM: Recommend your baby bottles

We used Born Free bottles with DS. I really liked them and had no complaints really. But I recall there being a lot of parts when cleaning them -which were a pain (I guess I did have a complaint, ha).

Can you recommend your bottles that were BPA free, great with managing gas and had minimum parts to deal with when cleaning?

  • Every baby is different, but DD did great with Tommee Tippee and I plan on trying those again.

This.  We used them with DD and are now using them with DS.  He's only had a few but he switches from bottle to breast with no issues.

  • I used the Playtex VentAir with my two, but just bought some Green To Grow bottles to have on hand here to try.  Will probably buy a couple Vent Air's to have on hand too.  Plan to BF, but also pump and store milk so DH can give LO a bottle.

I used Dr Browns last time, but do not want to deal with all those parts again so am using Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles (which we used with ds when he was older successfully).

  • We used Dr. Browns for a few months but we hated them.  Switched to playtex vent aire.

  • We liked these. I found them to be easier to keep clean than glass, and each bottle just had the nipple, cap, and the bottle to wash. I felt better about using glass instead of plastic since they had to be heated so much.

My LO never had issues with gas, and our pediatrician said bottles can't actually remove air/gas from formula despite what they claim, so he recommended sticking with whatever bottles were easiest for us.

FYI, they are just $5 for a 3 pack at Wal-Mart or BRU.

  • Don't think they have anything fancy for gas-reduction, but my DD LOVED the Medela bottles that came with my breast pump.  I obvioulsy didn't have to use these until returning to work so i'm not sure how they would have faired with gas and all but they were the only bottle she would take...we tried Vent Air, Playtex drop ins, Dr. Browns...she wouldn't use anything else.
  • Born Free glass bottles actually had the least parts out of all the ones we tried and seemed to be the easiest to clean. Screw Dr. Brown's, though.
