Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
Only a little to do with work....
Long story short, we are in the process of buying a foreclosed house. Offer was accepted over 3 weeks ago. Needed utilities to be turned on and dewinterized. Well, gas company wouldn't turn gas on until some new vent was installed (which is now is) and an electrician looked at the fireplace (which they did). Now it has to be dewinterized. The bank that owns it wants to closed by the end of the month or we lose our down payment which is currently being held in escarow until they agree to change the closing date because here in NY it is just not possible to get title, mortgage approval, etc by that time (as per our lawyer).
I am trying to get as much of this taken care of before I go back to work in 2 weeks.
But the really crappy part is I'm looking at other jobs, but accept one until I have a realistic closing date for mortgage reasons! Arg.
Former nanny related (the one that kind of flipped out and quit) - Was driving with DD over the weekend, and she pointed to a nail/waxing place and yelled, "Look! That's where (former nanny) gets her eyebrows done!" After some questions, she told me all about the process, and that Song, the waxing lady, would give DD a lollipop after they were done. Nanny certainly didn't have permission to take DD to a nail salon... ever...
Silly work vent - I had something in my office referencing the program through which I got my MBA. A coworker saw it and said, "Oh, my husband is starting a program to get his Exec MBA. It's going to take him 3 weeks." Um... it does not take 3 weeks to get any kind of MBA. It takes at least 18 months at every reputable school, and for an Exec MBA, it's a shiitton of work. 3 weeks is a seminar for which you might receive a certificate. It is not for a degree.
We had paperwork about summer advising which was due Friday, and everyone in my office suite turned it in Friday. But the office it was due to is closed on Fridays. So our college VP sent out a snarky email lambasting us for "shirking" our duties towards students and threatening punishment when our paperwork was sitting in a box waiting for him to pick it up.
We all emailed him about this and got no apology, just an "Oh, thanks!" Argh...
Mac and cheese lover!
Not really work related...
We are moving next week...from SC to MA. We are renting a house in MA and my husband has a job there (the reason why we're moving) but I have not found a job yet. Our house is on the market, but has only been on the market for a little over 3 weeks now. We've already dropped the price twice...the first before it officially listed and now our realtor has advised us to drop it again today. It's not overpriced by any means...but we're antsy and I really don't want to pay rent in MA and a mortgage in SC for very long.
Blech. Anyone want to buy a house in SC? It's a bargain for whoever gets it!
