Side effects of bathing with baby

I love taking baths with Evie, and we often end up nursing too. I just did this and then set her in the rocker so I could relax for a bit. Then I looked down and my belly button was filled with milk from the letdown on the opposite breast, haha! I guess I'll stop messing on my phone in the bath and get back to my book now :)

Yes Right there with you. I swear she holds in her pee just in time to go as soon as we lay her in her tub! So I know I'd end up covered in pee, so I don't wanna risk the chance of poo too!

Don't worry about that!  EBF is completely water soluble, I don't know about FF, and babies/toddlers on solids poop in the bath too - it cleans up.  I always finish a bath with a shower to actually get clean anyway.  It's such a relaxing bonding experience, especially when she is fussy.  Getting to cuddle mama and be in warm water is one of my LO's favorite activities :)

DD and I both equally love taking a bath together. I love the days where we get a chance to (I am very scared to bathe with her alone so I wait until DH is able to sit there and help out. I hand her off to him to dry her while I finish cleaning myself.)

  • This!  I think it's both of our favorite activities.  She loves it and I feel so awesome snuggling her.

  • I LOVE taking baths with DS! No poop so far. Not sure if I would know if he peed. But it's my favorite time of day on bath day.

  • When DH is home, I take ~10 minutes for myself, then he strips her and brings her to me.  I let her chill for awhile, clean/rinse her, let her hang out some more, and call DH to take her back out to get diapered/dressed.

When I'm home alone, I get her naked and put a towel over the sling in her baby bathtub, get her undressed, and lay her in the towel.  Then I get in the bath and read until she fusses or I've read a few pages - repeat the previous bath routine - when she's done, I lay her back in the towel/baby bath while I dry off.

I keep an extra towel for her handy, just in case she pees/poops on the first one, but we haven't had that happen yet.

She LOVES to lay on my chest while I'm in the bath, and really likes it when her whole body (minus the head, of course) is submerged.

I would love to try it. But if I were to rely on a shower afterwards in the instance poo happens, I'd be taking a cold shower. Haha. Our water heater is tiny. But I have been dying to try it out so I probably will sometime soon.

  • I like taking showers with DD and she seems to love having the water spray on her but I haven't figured out the logistics of a bath together yet.
