Do you still use a changing table or something else?

If you use something else, what is that?

I'm debating on getting another table for LO #2 but DH says DD can give up hers or even share.   I'm not keen on the sharing idea.

  • We just have a blanket and the floor to change the night time pull up besides that we started potty training at about your dd's age. I would save my money since they both wouldn't need one much longer.

We don't use out changing table much. He just lays on the couch or floor for his poopy diapers-- although sometimes he insists on the changing table. He changes our of his pull ups himself. I wish we could convince him to just go on the potty but alas he is still not ready.

  • At our house we always use the changing table unless we are in the bathroom for bathtime.  At my mom's its the floor.

Our changing table is just a dresser with a changing pad on top; but yes, we still use it.

    Same for us.

  • My husband likes to use Tegan's changing table, but I think it's easier just to change her on the floor. This is especially true now that she's potty training, since she no longer has to lay down for a diaper change.

  • We used his table for a long time, but at 3.5, we no longer do.

However, if we were going to have another child, we would just use the same table.  Even if we were still using it for DS.  I'm not sure what the issue is w/ sharing.

My fear is needing the changing table for 1 and it being in the room with the other child asleep.

I'd love to do the floor but not applicable right now due to pregnancy (to hard to get up & down as I get larger).  I did think of this all night, we are going to move in a month and DD will have a bed in her room plus the crib as we transition.  Then I can just use the bed for her and move the table to LOs room.

     Thanks ladies!

DS has been changed on the floor (on a lrg waterproof mat) since 18ish months - at first due to m/s, it was safer to leave him on the floor mid-dirty diaper while i threw up a trash can right next to him

And then continued part b/c he was used to it after months, part b/c I needed to limit my lifting.

  • We just change DS on the floor now with a towel under his bum!  He wants to stand up while getting dressed/undressed because he does most of it,  but he lies down for the diaper part.

  • We still use the changing table.  However, once baby # 2 comes along we'll change DD on her bed or the floor.

  • We've been changing DS on the floor since maybe 11 months, if not sooner. He was just WAY too wriggly (and hated diaper changes) to attempt them on the dresser.
  • We still use ours and plan to until DD2 is potty trained. Why don't you want your kids to share? You could always quickly wipe it down with a clorox wipe after you change them.

  • DD is potty trained, we don't use a changing table for DS, we either put a changing mat on the floor or change his diaper standing up in the bathroom. We'll probably throw a changing pad on top of a dresser when LO#3 comes.

  • DS still uses his but it's part of his dresser. We plan on switching out the whole bed/dresser set sometime this summer for a twin bed and matching dresser that he will use.
