Hey friends inside the internet! Saw some of these questions asked on another board and had to post here.
1. Who is your favorite author?
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often?
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook?
4. What are you reading now?
Have a lovely weekend!

Re: GTKY: book edition #2
1. Who is your favorite author? I LOVE John Steinbeck. And by that I mean I am actually in love with him, in real life. I read East of Eden about 5 years ago and I still think about it often. I've read most of his books but I have a few left, trying to make it last.
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? I almost never buy books, but my dad buys me a stack of books every birthday and Christmas so I have a huge bookshelf full. I buy at thrift stores and garage sales and used stores when I do. We go the the library weekly.
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? Paper. All. The. Way.
4. What are you reading now? Still working on Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. About halfway through, it's good! Proud of myself!
1. Who is your favorite author? Toni Morrison. I insist my classes read Song of Solomon at least once a year.
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? I buy them. I can't be trusted to return anything on time!
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? If I'm reading it with my class, always paperback so I can annotate. If I'm reading for pleasure, I buy it on my Nook. I've moved 5 times in the past 4 years and it is a pain to haul boxes of books from house to house, although there are quite a few I absolutely will not part with.
4. What are you reading now? I just finished the semester, so I'm not currently reading anything, but I will be reading Emma and The Great Gatsby with my summer class. I'm also SO EXCITED for the new Stephanie Plum novel coming out in November!!!
1. Who is your favorite author? Nora Roberts
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? Buy books
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? Paper
4. What are you reading now? I just finished 50 Shades of Grey and started the 2nd book to the series last night. I have to say I am hooked.
Baby Girl Lennon born sleeping 6-18-11 Baby Boy Anderson born healthy and happy 8-17-12
Why do you hate 50 Shades of Grey. I really liked the first one a lot and am now on the second one. How far are you in the book?
1. Who is your favorite author? I don't really have a favorite - I like to read a lot of memoirs and biographies written by the people who actually lived the events rather than a professional biographer.
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? I like to buy them, I use my Amazon prime account quite often...my husband has asked me to buy from the "Bargain Books" section because I purchase probably 8 a month haha!
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? Paper for sure! I love holding a good book.
4. What are you reading now? I swore I wouldn't...but I just started on 50 Shades of Grey last night. I am also reading The Warmth of Other Suns which is great - it's about the migration of African Americans to the North during the Jim Crow law days. I have a third book going too - the second book in a series called Delirium, pretty good, easy to read.
Yay! I love reading!
1. Who is your favorite author? Ooh, that's a tough one. I don't know that I have one for whom I have loved EVERY book. Under the gun, I might say Sidney Sheldon because he has had the best track record for me.
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? When Borders closed, my book buying dropped dramatically. I used to get 40% off coupons often and I would always go buy books with those. I am not someone who reads books multiple times so unless a book costs me less than $10, I don't want to buy it. So with that said, I have been using my library a lot for e-books.
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? I still have quite the inventory of un-read paper books so I am working through those but I also have a Nook that I love, especially for travel.
4. What are you reading now? I just finished Divergent by Veronica Roth and am now a few chapters into the sequel, Insurgent. Sooooooooo good! If you liked Hunger Games, this is not the same, but it is the same type of genre so you will probably like it. I personally like it a little better because it is not quite as cruel of a world. I am also reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth to help me prepare for med-free birth.
1. Who is your favorite author?
It's a toss-up between Hemingway and Steven King right now. Hemingway's been a favorite of mine for a LONG time & King is a recent addition.
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often?
I used to buy them, but a local bookstore closed & the library is closer (and free!).
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook?
Paper books always.
4. What are you reading now?
Oy. STILL reading 11/22/63 (King). I'm in the home stretch though (under 100 pages left--the book has 850 pages!). I'm hoping to have it done this weekend, because I'm so excited to dive into something else!

I also had Picoult and Giffin phases! Giffin books are a lot of fun. And I also kind of hated 50 Shades but I did like it a little bit more by the end than I did in the first half. I feel like an outcast, though, since I was not in love with it and decided not to read the sequels.
1. I'd have to go with Jane Austen.
2. It depends on if our local library carries the book or not.
3. Paper and Nook
4. Fiction: One For the Money by Janet Evanovich (my Mom is obsessed with this series) Non-fiction: The Power by Rhonda Byrne.
I LOVED Delirium! And yes, very easy read and nothing intellectual but so enthralling, nonetheless. I actually didn't realize the sequel had come out and now I am super excited! See my survey above - if you like Delirium, you will likely enjoy Divergent and Insurgent, too.
1. Who is your favorite author? That's a tough one...my most recent favorite author is probably David Sedaris...hysterical and mostly short stories so my obsessive need to "finish" can be easily accommodated.
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? Buy. Last time I wanted to go to the library I couln't get a card b/c I didn't have a license in our new state yet
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? iBooks mostly now...we have a small apartment, I'm not too nostalgic for paper, I can make notes easily, and looking up words I am not sure about is so easy!
4. What are you reading now? Nothing, although I do need to get cracking on Hunger Games for next month's book club! Read the 50 Shades Trilogy a few weeks ago in 3 days...it was alright.
What's your favorite Koontz book? I haven't ever read any of his books, but I really want to--I've heard they're awesome. Any suggestions would be great!

Favorite author: The late Michael Crichton. Loved his books!
Buy or check out of the library: As a child, the library was my absolute favorite place. I used to take the bus once a week every summer to get new books. As an adult I buy all my books (much to my husbands dismay).
Paper or Kindle/Nook: Because I had so many books my husband bought me an ebook. I'm on my third ebook (had a Sony, then the regular kobo and I now have a kobo touch). When he first told me about the books I would not even consider them but now I can't live without it. Yes pages are nice but the convenience of an ebook is not to be beat. Whether I'm reading war and peace or 50 shades of grey I carry my library with me wherever I go.
What am I reading now: I'm reading the last in the Game of Thrones series called Dance with the Dragons. Not usually my style of book but it's been a good series.
1. Who is your favorite author? Though I love J.R. Ward, Diana Gabaldon, Nicholas Sparks, and Robyn Carr, my favorite would be a tie between Stephen King and Dean Koontz. They never disappoint.
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? Buy them. I haven't checked out a library book since I was a kid.
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? Just got a Kindle and got rid of hundreds and hundreds of books I've collected over the years. I also listen to A LOT of books on audio while I work out or durng my long commute.
4. What are you reading now? Omnimore's Dilema on my Kindle and I just finished the Moonlight Road (a Virgin River novel) on audiobook.
I should add that if anyone is looking for a fun, quick read, check out the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr. I just discovered them this spring, and have really enjoyed reading them (or listening to them) while pregnant because the main character in the first book is a midwife so the books include lots of pregnancy, births, and babies!
DH and I married 8 years. Mom of three, stepmom of one.
1. Who is your favorite author?
Nicholas Sparks
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often?
I usually buy books.
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook?
BF got me a Kindle for my birthday and I have been using it nonstop since January.
4. What are you reading now?
This book I found for 99 cents on my Kindle. I can't even remember the title off the top of my head. I go through so many!
1. Who is your favorite author? I've never thought about it...
2. Do you buy books or check them out from the library most often? I love to check out books, I do it weekly. The only books I've ever willingly bought were the Harry Potter series.
3. Paper or Kindle/Nook? Paper. Definitely.
4. What are you reading now? I just finished the second book in the Shades of Grey trilogy. I am starting "Love the one you're with" by Emily Giffin and will pick up the 3rd in the Shades of Grey trilogy this weekend or sometime next week.
I love this series too. I read them a while ago. I have most of them-at least the first 10 or 11. They're a fun, quick read.
