Last Tuesday was my routine Weekly Check... I was also checked on my cervix... I had a small dimple... I have also been getting NSTs and Biophysical every week due to high BP... This week our U/S tech was out of town so I was sent to the Hospital to do those... My Midwife told me to Schedule my appointment for the next week and it may not happen because she was expecting the baby by then... if not I was going to be induced...
I got over to the Hospital about 3pm... Because that?s when they could work me in...They hooked me up to everything and let me sit... Once again I had high BP... about 5:20... They came in and told me that I had been having contractions and that every time I did Brooklyn?s heart rate would drop... They were going to call my Midwife and see what she wanted to do...
At 6pm they told me I was being admitted and to call my husband because I was going to be induced and would be having my baby by tomorrow...
DH and I got to my room at the same time... They hooked me back up to all the monitors and to a BP checker... so I was confined to my bed except to use the restroom... It was dinnertime but I couldn't eat... I wish I had snuck to the cafe... before they gave me my room... I got an IV and the inducing IV... And tried to just rest... about 11 pm my mom showed up... and then left at midnight and DH and I tried to get to sleep...
The night nurse came in about every hour and half because nothing seemed to help Brooklyn and her heart rate... So I was moved from my left side to my right... to my back to my left... and then about 5am I was given Oxygen and still could not find a way to sleep... two pillows under my left side plus oxygen seemed to do the trick...
At about 7:30 my Midwife broke my water? And placed probes directly to Brooklyn?s head? No more getting out of bed at all! Then about 10am I was told that I needed to get an Epidural even though I did not want one? If I didn?t get one of those then I was going to be put on BP meds? At that point I had peed the bed and just wanted the catheter? They never gave me a bedpan after they broke my water just towels?
At 7:20pm I was finally dilated enough to PUSH!!! They upped my inducing drug and told me to take a nap before my midwife came? And I did? I have no clue how but I did?
After about 15 minutes of pushing Brooklyn made her arrival! At 7:59pm
She was 5 pounds and 2 inches? 19 inches long? We bond and I feed her? then we let family in and they passed her around?
They nurse did all her vitals and realized her body temp was low? They put her on a warmer and she never got any better so about 12am they took her to the Special Care Nursery? its only NICU level II so its really just special care if they need major care they get sent to the top children?s hospital in the state? which is just up the road?
She has been in the SCN since Wednesday night? Her blood sugars dropped drastically Thursday night and again Friday night? Finally Saturday during the day they put her in an Incubator and moved her inside the SCN? She has been doing amazing ever since! And we are hoping to have her home Thursday or Friday!

Congratulations on your little girl! So glad to hear she's doing better and may be going home soon.
p.s. Are you in the St. Louis area? The way your described the level II vs level III nurseries sounded like the hospitals near us.
