Swollen knuckles at 2 weeks postpartum?

I had DS2 a little over 2 weeks ago and although I've lost a lot of weight already, my fingers are still numb and my knuckles are still swollen.  I can't get my wedding rings on.  I haven't had them on for months now and developed carpal tunnel with this pregnancy.  With my first pregnancy, I had little to no extra swelling and was able to wear my rings the entire time.  I had a c-section both times.

Does anyone have any advice?  I plan on asking my dr at my 6 week visit if it's still a problem, but wanted to see how everyone else faired at 2 weeks out.

Thanks!

  • I had the samething happen to me with my DD it took 6 months for me to be able to put my rings back on. :( I expect the same this time too.

Smile  Note the lack of ankle.  I couldn't even fit into my maternity jeans because of the swelling!  I wore sweat pants and flip flops to my child's two week appointment and I remember asking the pedi if that was normal or not.  Swelling = completely normal.  Be glad if you can wear pants!  LOL  By six weeks I was back into normal clothes and feeling pretty good.

  • I am over 5months postpartum and my wedding rings still do not fit.  I tried around 3 months pp, and I could get them on, but my finger started swelling and I thought I was going to have to cut them off because they were sooo tight.  I am below pre-pregnancy weight, so I think my knuckles may have grown and are never going back.  I'm going to wait until 6 months, then have my rings resized.  I want to wear my diamond again!

  • my swelling was terrible the first 2 weeks and I never expected it. Never read about it or had anyone tell me. I had extra fluids given to me from some slight complications. My fingers returned to normalish about a month or so out.
