Bactine for the hospital bag?

A friend suggested that I bring bactine with me to the hospital. I'm only halfway through, but she kindly sent me a very detailed list of items to buy. She said it'll help more than the stuff the hospital gives for pain. She suggested starting perineal massage right now. And she suggested that, after baby is born, to use the bactine before going to the bathroom. Anyone else use this in the days after a vaginal delivery?

    I didnt use it and personally dont think it is necessary.

    No.  I had people recommend Tucks pads though.

    I didn't use it.  I just went with what the hospital gave me and was just fine.  They gave me the ice liner for my undies, tucks pads, peri wash, sitz bath, and something called peri foam that burned when put on but numbed the area.  I don't want to cart more than I need in there.  It is busy enough and hard enough to lug everything out in a couple days when you leave.

    My hospital gave me dermoplast. It was ok, wasn't a big help IMO.

    I was fine with the dermoplast and witch hazel pads the hospital provided.

    This is what I used once I was home. Never heard of using bactine. My hospital gave ice packs and a squirt bottle. I agree with others -- limit what's in the hospital bag. If you really need something, I'm sure they'll find it for you.

    My hospital supplies demoplast and tucks pads.. I didn't get more tucks pads on my way home, but I didn't need them till I was home.. Never heard of using bactine.
