Entering 3rd tri and still not much movement...

I do have an anterior placenta and am a FTM, but I'm worried about the lack of movement I'm feeling.

I do feel her moving around a bit at least once a day, but sometimes it's only once a day. It's typically at night when I'm laying still.

I'm pretty sure it's nothing to worry about, but it seems like people as far along as me are feeling constant movement throughout the day, sharp kicks, or are even being kept up at night. I guess I could just use some reassurance that this is normal, or other people with an AP have been as far along as me, not really felt a lot of movement, and have had a healthy baby with normal growth.

 TIA :)

  • I've got an AP as a FTM too.  Baby has a dance party every night around 11 pm, but other than that it is pretty seldom.  I'll feel random rolls a few times a day, but generally only the one big session of movement.  But hey- I bet they'll make up for it once we are further along.  AND we get to sleep more.  That's a good thing!

  • I also have an AP. I'm feeling a little bit of movement when I get home from work and then again around 10 pm when I go to bed.

  • I could have written this myself. I also have AP and only feel movement once maybe twice a day. im 27 weeks 3 days. My ob says its normal for us. And they didn't even want me to do kick counts till 32 weeks. Hope this helps. Talk to your doctor if you think something is wrong!

I'm the same, don't feel much if i'm active during the day.  Mostly first thing in the morning there are kicks down low or also some rolling feelings.  Don't worry, i hear it's quite normal with an AP.

  • Thank you so much ladies! I feel a lot better :) Glad to have my BMB :)

I'm a little sad to be "missing out" on a big part of pregnancy, but as a PP said, I'm sure in a few weeks the babies will be more than making up for it :)

    This.

I'm a PGAL too though who never felt movement with the daughter we lost so this is all new to me and it worries me all of the time that she isn't moving more. I didn't have AP last time so i wasn't convinced that was the difference until I saw all of the posts about it. Personally I have a doppler (sonoline B) so I whip that puppy out whenever I get worried. It really helps calm my fears :) GL ;)

  • I have an AP too and have been experiencing the same thing. Some days baby is very active and I can feel strong, belly jiggling kicks, other days, like yesterday and today, I barely feel anything and get worried. I also have a Doppler, so I break it out and just make sure that baby is okay. I also feel like my bump is not as hard as it should be, and I started out pretty thin, the "cushion" of the placenta is definitely there, and I can't distinguish any body parts like I know some moms with regular placentas can (like this a head, butt, ect), and can never tell how the baby is laying inside, I have no idea if s/he is head down or transverse or what. I seriously hate having an AP though, I feel so robbed of the most exciting part of pregnancy.

  • I don't even have AP and I still only get movement that comes at night and in the morning when I first wake up. Granted, when I do get the movements, there are A LOT of them (like 1/2 hr. to 45 mins.) but it still kind of makes me nervous not getting anything but maybe a roll here or there during the day.

  • I am 30w1day, was about 214 pounds to start, am a FTM, and also have an AP. My daughter has days of constant movement and other days where I can barely feel her at all. What I can say is that just within the last week she has been moving more and I'm talking about full blown, hand moving, kicks. She likes to roll around a lot and sometimes for me that just feels like a lot of pressure in a generalized location. Something that helped me is that on ultrasounds I can see her moving all around but can't always feel that movement. What that tells me is that even if I can't "feel" her move as much, I know that she is moving way more than I can imagine because the US tells me she is!

  • I do not have an AP as far as I know, but FWIW DH mentioned to me last night, that his baby app said this week (I'm in week 30) she may be moving less, because she is running out of room.
