I had a doctor's appointment this morning and was told that because of my swelling she wants me to cut down on my sodium.
She also told me that my glucose results are high (but not gestational diabetes high) and I need to cut back on my sugars. She thinks it's pointless to send me for another test because my levels are still far from needing insulin so it would be pointless to retest to only have her tell me the same thing (cut sugars out of my diet).
I feel like there's nothing I can have as a little treat anymore. I guess I just have to think positive and think about how I won't gain as much weight since I can't eat anything bad.
This Sunday is my shower so I'll have a cheat day then (since I'm not in a danger zone or anything) and then have 9 weeks left to dream about all the yummy food I can't eat...
Re: Not having a great day
I know your doc said to cut back on sugars, but it's not just sugars that can affect your glucose levels. It's all carbs. You don't have to completely cut the sugar out, just limit your portion size. One way I've help with my sweet tooth cravings is to eat fresh fruit instead of a sugary treat. Fruits like berries and melons are lower in carbs than other fruits like bananas, pineapples, and oranges.
