I posted this question on the TTC board -- apparently not the right board. I'm just wondering how long it took everyone to conceive. I plan to get off of my BCP in August and start actively TTC in October. I'm ready to be a mama and have babies on the brain! Thank you!
Peace, love and light.
Re: How long to get preg?
It is different for everyone. Could be the first cycle, could be a year.
We went through two miscarriages and a year of trying before having DS. The second time around, it took me 6 months to get pregnant and then two miscarriages to bring me to where I am today. This is my 6th pregnancy. I have a 2 year old.
I would suggest reading up on temping/charting/ovulation predictor kits etc. It can take a lot longer to get pregnant if you don't know when you ovulate. Get to know your body and your cycles. I'd start doing the ovulation predictors/temping now so that you understand your cycles.

Ditto. But I'm not sure if this is the norm. When the nurse at my OB's office heard this she said "wow, well aren't you fertile!" Some ladies will need some time to regulate when coming off BCPs.
For me, I went off BCP in late March and had cycle #1 (no pregnancy). The next month I started charting and became pregnant (on cycle #2). I feel very fortunate and lucky that it only took us 2 months to become pregnant. I was prepared for it to take longer.

RE the bolded: that is correct; it's not the right board. Women on the TTGP board are just that- trying to get pregnant. Not already pregnant.
It took us 7 cycles, but I have never been on BCP. It can take your body awhile to regulate after stopping BCP. It can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive.
HTH!

TTC= TRYING TO CONCEIVE meaning they are NOT pregnant and cannot tell her how long it took them to get pregnant.

For ds, when I got off bcp my period never returned. It took me just over one year and lots of IF-related appointments and treatments to get pregnant. This time, my cycle returned on its own while I was still breastfeeding and we got pregnant our first month trying! So, you truly never know what's going to happen.
