16 weeks, did you get an ultra sound?

I know this is probably one of those 'depends on the ob' questions but I have my 16 week appt tomorrow and I'm curious if I will be getting an ultra sound or not so I thought I'd ask those of you that have had it and get a general consensus. Its been a few weeks since I've seen peanut and I'm wondering if my OB would be able to make a guess at the sex. I'm not gonna start decorating the nursery or anything, just curious.

My office makes separate appts for US - I'm getting one around 17 weeks to look at a cyst I have. Otherwise no I would not be getting one until the a/s!

I'm at 16 weeks now and will have a separate appointment this week for my regular monthly checkup, and then a separate appointment for my anatomy ultrasound. They just happen to be the same week for me. And for my ultrasound, they told me in advance what it's for and to prepare for it by drinking 32 ounces of water an hour before to get good anatomy ultrasound pictures. I can't wait until my appointment tomorrow!

I had an U/S at my first visit at 8w. Just checked HB with doppler at appointment yesterday at 13w and 16w will be the same. I didn't have NT scan so my next U/S will be my A/S at 19 weeks. There's no real need to do an U/S at 16 weeks unless there is a problem and it seems most OBs just check HB with doppler since it is pretty easy to find at that point.

I just got bloodwork done at 16wks, no appt. But like PP, my office also schedules ultrasounds separately from Dr visits

I just had mine today. I had blood drawn, typical weight/bp, and then he listened to the baby's heartbeat.

I'll have my next U/S at 18 weeks and hopefully find out the sex. I am at the end of week 15.

Thanks everyone! She did one at my first appt with her but I'm guessing that's just because it was her first time seeing me. It sounds like I should just expect a basic check up and maybe the hb with the Doppler. I appreciate the input!

I am getting one at my 16 week appointment, but we are paying for it to try to find out the sex. My OB office does it like the "boutique" in town... If you want that kind of scan, since it's not covered by insurance, it's $50.

I do not get one at my 16wk appt, just bloodwork and doppler check and visit with the Dr.

My OB's office makes separate appts for u/s and it's not done in the same office (same building though). I don't have an u/s until my a/s in just less than 4 weeks. After that, who knows.. I know I'll have a bunch (or should) to monitor the growth of my babies.

I'm one of the lucky ones that get to have an U/S every time I go in every 4 weeks.

I got an ultrasound at 12 weeks, but I won't be getting another until I'm almost 20 weeks. I had an appointment with my OB at 15 weeks. She just did a basic examine and used the Doppler to hear the baby's heart, but no ultrasounds.

I have my ultra sounds in the same office as my dr. appt.. On my 16 week visit (Monday) I just did the routine stuff. Weight, blood pressure, heart beat. My next ultra sound will be at 20 weeks at the a/s.

My 16w appointment was about 10 minutes long.. They took my weight, blood pressure, looked at the baby, and that was it. I only have ultrasounds at 8w and 20w.

I weighed in, had external exam, pee in a cup, had blood pressure taken and gave blood.

My next appt is at 16 weeks and I won't have an ultrasound -- they only did one at 8 weeks to date the pregnancy and they won't do another until 20 for the a/s and as far as I know those are the only two that my practice will do for a normal, healthy pregnancy.
